Top Mileage of Lightning
For clarification, I should have posted that my engine came up with a rod-knock at 94,500 miles so I know have a new, 2002 engine in it. It was my fault as 'bad' oil and/or my lack of oil changes made for two rods with scored bushings and 'burned' crank journals. The rods did not break but they would have if I had kept on driving it as the oil pressure zeroed out. I replaced the oil pressure sender and the oil pressure came back but 500 miles later, the rod-knock became evident.
The original engine ran a 12.531@108.69 1/4 with a 5 lb pulley, CAI, etc. and ran several dyno runs with the best at 401.9/502.1. Still breaking in the new engine and it has the same mods on it as the original. This engine will get Mobil 1, 5W20 and more oil changes. I d/k if the RP 5W20 was part of the problem but I'm not going with it again.
