Post Got a ride in a new Cobra R!

A guy here at work gave me a ride in his new Cobra R today. All I can say is WOW! No air conditioning or stereo or backseat, but it's a sweet ride. I had a smile on my face for the entire ride!

but was it worth $55-60k? I know to the people who can buy one that is probabaly a drop in the bucket, but from what I can tell the new corvette (ZO6????) is a much better deal. I read 2 different rags that compared those 2 & a viper - the corvette was the overall winner for everyday use (& was also the cheapest)

$55K dollar car with probably at least $10K dealer mark-up plus sales taxes, if any. $55K includes $3K gas guzzler tax. Also, no warranty. Does not sound too enticing to me. The Vette is probably a better value.

My Lightning salesman drove the Dealer's Cobra R which they have been trying to sell for a long time. He was not impressed.

I think my coworker paid 70K for his. He's test driven Corvettes and Vipers. Likes the Corvette a lot, but he's a Cobra guy. He likes the handling a lot. In the magazine tests, didn't the Cobra R beat the Viper and Corvette on the track? Anyway, it's a lot of $$, but I still enjoyed the ride!

Hey POPs99L, I am sure your talking about the R at Leaf Johnson. I went and looked at it this weekend and could not believe the $89,000.00 price tag. A couple of minutes before I got there, some man drove up in his and looked the one in the showroom. Also there was two Cobra Rs at the Whataburger in Round Rock two weeks ago. I would sure like to drive one.
