Post Calling 99SVT

Hey Jerrod, it has been a month since you put the 410's in. How do you like the gears? Would you do it again? What brand name gears and how to contact them. Thanks....Ken

Jerrod, thanks for the reply. I have been in touch with US Gear and they recommended Pyle Bros and a place here in Florida. The issue is apparently Ford has changed (3 times) the front pinion bearing sometime in 1999 with different threads and the nut could be stripped along with some other chaanges. Anyway I have a call into Dwight @ Pyle Bros to see if he has the gearset and if he had any problem with yours. Has there been an increase in noise? Also has your ET's improved? Thanks for this message board because one mechanic wanted me to order from Down's Ford (the only place that makes them?)at some exorbitant cost. If you don't mind I would use your name as the referral to keep the price similiar to what you paid. Thanks.....Ken

Txflood, the US Gear is as quiet as a 4:10 can be. Pyle Bros did a great job on the install. This is the first work they have done for me, but I have heard nothing but good things about them from other racers.
Off the top of my head, the gear was $290, labor $175. There was misc. stuff(shims, lube), but the total was around $550-$575 (don't remember the exact price)
Ken, not a problem using me as a referal. Hope everything works out.

Hey Ken, has it been that long. Time flies when your having fun.
Would definately do it again. Truck performs better, highway mileage stayed the same, & around town mileage improved. Had the truck up to 140 the other day and still had room to spare on the tach.
The gear I got was from US Gear. Don't know how to contact them as I had Pyle Bros in Baytown, TX install it. They stock this gear.
