Powder coat Calipers?

Would there be any reason NOT to powder coat the stock brake calipers? I have an extra set I stripped all the rubber, piston etc out of. I was going to bead blast them and paint them but I figured since there down and off the truck why not? Has anyone else done this?

I would think you'd have trouble getting the piston/seal back in with the extra material from the powder coating.

No, because the piston sleeve is masked off with a dummy piston before the actual pwdercoating. I gotta say, they come out gorgeous.

Powder Coating;

Pressure Clean
De-grease
Protect working & machine surfaces
Prepare - grit or fine bead blasting
Mask working & machine surfaces before appling powder.
Pre-heat
Apply powder coat
Cure at required temperature
Cool Down
Strip masking - JOB DONE any color you want even black

Exactly how its done! Except you don't need to pre-heat the caliper, just the oven.
