I'd start with belt slip. What are you running for idlers?

Second have you done any datalogging? I think you are generating some heat and pulling timing but I could be wrong. With the motor and minimal boost (stock upper 6 or 8 lower) I think you should be over 500/600...
Ya they seem low to me as well. and yes i did spring as well, this isn't my first go around. the belt does not slip beleave me on that. the belt cant get any tighter, plus wile on the dyno we sprayed VHT(track bite) on the belt. i have the Motoblue set up with 100 idlers. One thing that does bother me, one night it was like 59 degress out side and i got on it and it made 21 pounds of boost. I was like wow the truck feels faster and i looked over and saw the guage and it was at 21PSI. ya i dont know what is up with that other than the air beaing so cold and thick.

I have a 1970 cj 429 Torino. I was running 13.50 at 104, with a 2800 stall on a cam of 234 int. 237 exh. at .557 lift. I went to a 3800 stall and gained 7/10ths and went 12.82 at 108. Higher stalls with traction there is no equal almost for the money. minus n2o. naturally this is debatable.

A built shortblock buys you duribility to run more hp but doesn't really gain any alone, port the eaton or pick up a used MP or KB and turn up the boost, power can be found in ported head/cams and with blower swaps, swap the converter theres a few tenths, get a dyno tune I'm sure theres some there, how about the fuel system/maf. In my opinion once you go past the basics bolt-ons it really starts to be expensive, to add a blower no problem but start adding all the items to support it and you've spent 6k, then the tranny tanks because of the extra power, 4k, you drop a pump, 350.00, be smart start with a dyno tune so you know where your at and go from there. Good luck, T
