I have a cat back system on my 2000 and love the sound. It is louder, and deeper sound than stock. Everyone that has heard it likes the sound.
I also have a 99 lightning with the full system (bassani) and that sounds nice also but, is quite a bit louder both outside and inside the cab. Have had complaints from passengers that it get too loud after being in there for a while.

Have to agree with Brian on the complete system on a 99 and I assume as well an 00.

You really have to want to hear the exhaust at the expense of most everything else with the full system. Thanks to someone a week or so ago, I finally activated the speed sensitive thingie on my radio and that has helped in that area (mine was turned off from the dealer/factory). On the other hand, Pat will not ride with me any more on our visits to other HobbyTown stores. We went to a regional meeting in Chattanooga a few weeks ago and that required climbing for a long time in the mountains and she was about ready to get out and walk. As long as you are on the throttle, it resonates pretty bad.

I have no experience with the Cat Back only system, but it certainly must add something to the in cab noise levels.

For me, it is a breath of fresh air when I punch it and wake up the locals, but there are times when I think about re-routing the pipes out to the rear bumper to let the sound trail the truck rather than dumping just below the passenger door.

Hope I didn't spoil your evening!!

Andy,
The Bassani exhaust tips are a much higher quality than the stock tips. They are larger and are a polished stainless steel that are alot easier to keep looking nice. Hope that helps.

One last question Brian,

Are the Bassani tip cut at a angle like the stock tips?

Thanks

99 SVT,
Yes they are at an angle, they blend in real nice with the truck, they actually look better than the originals.

Thumbs up

One thing I can say about Bill Murrays truck with the complete system is I heard it shortly after he first got it, while the truck was not moving though (he started it, let it warm up, then he gave it a few good rev's) and it sounded pretty impressive. However, on Saturday I was at a Ford dealer that is across the street from the back of Bill's store when I heard something across the street. I turned around and saw "Moby" leaving the parking lot, not wide open but Bill must have had his foot into it. It sounded really nice and loud, I am a Mustang guy at heart but that truck sounded better than any Mustang I have heard in a long time.
