I would have to say that the majority of lightning owners would say the exact opposite. I personally hate it when the truck is bogging at that speed and even worst, when it takes a full pedal to get out of it. I also don't think you have to have the TC jumping in and out of lock for it to perform right. There is a compromise ther, and I'm glad to hear guys like Sal and the other tuners can remove this very annoying problem.

you had me worried, I thought now what????

Thats just the way they made these automatics. It doesn't do that till you hit about 40 like you said.

The quick ET guys save there tranny's for Standing start WOT runs. It's probably less harmful than those kickdown stunts. Then you got your Old Farts like me that just drive um the way they made and smile at the Hemi guys that want to know if they can take you. Just kills them when you don't give them the satisfaction. hehehehehehe
I already know its fast. I don't have to prove it.

Mondo, JDM does my tune as for the details on the trans lockup, I don't know, I'm sorry, I can tell you that the changes that were made make a huge difference in around town driving which was the issue with the last tune, the truck was always felt flat, not now.

Thanks, Todd. I plan on sending jim my 4 bank , so he can tune-in those lock up parameters. After all, he did the tune on it originally.

As said IT ALL CAN BE FIXED IN THE TUNE
Sal had mine "PERFECT"

You can tell the computer WHEN to switch the next gear (and it wont switch before it).

You can tell the computer WHEN to lock up the convertor (and it wont lock up before then).

You can tell the Computer WHEN to automatically shift to OD, (and it wont shift to OD before then).

You can tell the Computer WHEN to automatically downshift back into 3rd from OD, (and it will do it exactly that when you tell it to).

All of these Tweaks (AND MORE) can be set by RPM or MPH

I had each and everyone of these tweaks and more "to my liking" and my L truly shifted like a standard transmission. I was still on the Stock Transmission
5 years later, 3 motors later, 2 Tq Convertors later, and that was with TQ Reduction turned off since day one, and very high shift points and Rev limiter,
SO NO IT DOES NOT HURT THE TRANSMISSION.
Doing WOT downshifts hurt the Transmission.....
