Sounds like a bad day, but you've got a good attitude about it. Things should start improving.

PeterB, I don't know how reputable (sp?) the tint shop is that did your tint. But the one that did mine will actually acompany one to court and testify in your behalf about the % of tint on your windows.

I got pulled over myself for today for tinted windows.

I knew he was behind me and I watch him as he was trying to catch up to me. I was driving perfect, not speeding, doing not one thing wrong. The red lights came on. I pulled over and stopped.

I stuck my head out the window (for you see BOTH windows were DOWN). I asked what is wrong and he said your tint is too dark. He then asked me to roll the windows up and then he said, yes that they were too dark.

I got lucky. As he was starting to write a ticket, an emergency came over the radio and he left quickly with only a warning.

I got lucky but I know he will be watching out for me.

Thumbs down Bad things come in 3's

Tuesday I take the day off to fight a traffic ticket for expired tags on my wife's truck. So there I am minding my own business on the way to the courthouse cruising down 1-10 (you guys in Phoenix are gonna laugh at this one). So I'm like minutes away from being late and I take the 3rd street exit. After I cut across the HOV lane and get in the exit lane, the next sign shows that this exit is an HOV only lane (I did not know that). I panic and look in the mirrors, whew, no cop. As I come up the ramp, there he is on his motorcycle just waiting for a moron to come up the ramp, and there I am. He pulls me over asks me to step out, asks if I knew why he pulled me over, I tell him honestly I realize the mistake I made once I did it. As he is writing me the ticket he says, I'm also giving you a ticket for your limo window tint, I said, no its limo only on the back, he says no it's limo all the way. Told him I had the legal limit on the side windows installed, he says, no problem, I'll check it for you. I then tell him to hurry it up as I would be late for court if he keeps me here long. Legal limit is 35%, I was at 12%--yikes. As I was getting the tickets, I was just laughing at myself thinking about trying to go to fight one ticket and on route getting 2. Oh well, so I had a bad day, I need one every now and then.

Btw, the new law in California now does not allow a cop to give out a "fix-it" ticket for illegal window tint. It's a $fine$. Can't recall the dollar amount but I believe it's around $120. $bucks$
