But put this in perspective. That is one report of a snapped fitting out of dozens of people who have installed the SD cooler.

Look at the detail of the SD cooler:

Pretty good for a c-note.

Absolutley Tim, if there is an alternative for similar money with similar performance I would try it just to be different, but will probably go with the superduty unit......

Which bar and plate cooler are they comparing? There's huge differences between the different styles.

there's dozens on the market and i'm sure some are much better than others.

Remember, all intercoolers are bar and plate too. Why would anyone use bar and plate if the tube and fine was not only more efficient but cheaper? It'd be ridiculous.

I'm not particularly impressed by the B&M unit and plan on replacing it with a sertrab, earls, or fluidyne unit when I get the chance. They are all similar in construction and the de rigeur standard for exotics and racing.

setrab

earl's

As mistergadget said: ". . . sertrab, earls, or fluidyne . . . are . . . the de rigeur standard for exotics and racing."

Setrab coolers are standard issue on Nextel Cup cars, and many F1s. That may be due to sponsorship (like Sears batteries), but you can't find a tube-and-fin in high-end racing. That should tell you something.

Since you're already in debt to JJ for the rest of your life, check out the vendors on ebay selling used Nextel Cup parts. Incredible deals to be had.

We are checking with JJ if he will take foodstamps, but I do appreciate the ebay tip, I keep forgetting about the nascar surplus guys on there.

I was also debating with gadget yesterday about whether or not to leave the stock oil cooler on or use a moroso adapter set right into the block.
