Post Calling FORDSALES??

I noticed a recent post where you had stated that you were having 4.10 gears installed. I was wondering if you got a chance to have them installed yet? If so what's your opinion on them? I just received my set of Ford 4.10's but have yet to install them.

Yes, I did have them installed, Tuesday.

At this time, I really can't tell. The reason is: There is a breaking period of 200 miles of driving with no load and up to 400-500 miles before I feel I can really start driving it hard. I want them to break them in correctly so there won't be an hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm's.

Even though I treat them like a baby, I feel there is more umph but I won't know for sure for another 250 miles.

My Superchip has gone back to be re-burned for the gear change and I am waiting calmly for it to return. The speedometer is off quite a bid.

Sorry, I could not give you a better answer but in a few days I will post my gut reaction to both the gear change and Superchip's new performance program.

What time are you going to be at Danny's? If early, I'd like to come up and see you. It might be tough though, We are leaving for Idaho around 2:00 and my wife might get upset if I were gone all day.

Until he gets the new chip, performance will be worse with the 4.10s. That's because the EECM will read the driveshaft speed and shifts will occur at 4800 rpm. I just spoke to Danny Swanson, and am tentatively scheduled to get a chip next Wednesday. It that happens I will post the results to the board, but I expect huge performance gains.
