Post new chip information

I received an e-mail from Mike Troyer of Superchips in response to my questions regarding the new program for the 2000 L.

Yes, this new program absolutely kicks butt, which is why everyone loves it. Finally we're getting the same power gains on the 2000's that we always have on the 1999 Lightnings. The funny thing about the 1999's is that the very first program we released for those is still one of the best available. But because of many changes Ford did to the 2K Lightning, they must be tuned much differently, and I really didn't think we'd ever hit the same numbers on the 2000's, but finally they did it...
To webmaster: I posted this quote on my own and was never asked to by Superchips. I don't want Superchips to get in hot water.

I just installed my Superchip today ('00) and was extremely impressed. It is a very aggressive boy now, with hard shifts and more angry revs, if you know what I mean. I have no idea which chip is the best and I have no intention of emptying my wallet to find out, I can only say that in this case, I'm stickin' with it! The added bonus is that now I get to add at least one mod to that empty space beneath by post, only fifty or so to go.....

That is what I have been reading from those who have received theirs. I cannot wait. I watch for the postman everyday.

Interesting what Mike says about the original 99.5 Superchips chip.

I started with one of the first chips Superchips shipped for that year and ran it for about 6 months. Had no problems except when we changed to winter gas in Atlanta and got some detonation problems.

Switched to a PSP chip and loved the somewhat harder shifts, but had the normal tip in detonation and other similar problems. No biggie at all, and was happy with it. The PSP chip was forwarded on to another Bolt owner here in Atlanta and I ran unchipped for a couple of months and was not happy. Plugged in the old Superchips chip and have found it to be totally adequate for my non-racing needs.

Shifting is firm enough, power is definitely there, the combo of the chip I have, the Bassani exhaust and the PSP filter give me all the oomph I can use.

Perhaps another happy cross dresser I am.

FORDSALES,
I'm afraid I have to back up the second gear chirp, only mine was going uphill at the time! What with the extra weight on the back due to the steep grade I never thought it would have a chance to do what it did. Oh,I'm sorry.....

I cannot wait to get mine back. I have been driving around the last few days without the chip and the truck feels slow.

I am glad to hear of the good results!
