dome light problem

dome light problem

so i decided to get a new red bulb for my dome light, and when i put it in i started to smoke a bit after being on for about 2-3 mins. Anyone put a red light in theirs that works? thanks.

here is what i bought
It should stop once the coating on the bulb heat cures.

ah that i dont know, all its says is 12 volts. Anyone know the right size bulb for our dome light and if there is a red one out there?

Make sure you wipe your fingerprints off of the bulb after installing it. Or better yet, use a paper towel/cloth to grab the bulb to install it.

Wattage is typically on the bulb itself

those cheapy bulbs are nothing but trouble.....you may want to try and find a red sleeve to go over the factory bulb.

thats what i had in there like 2 years ago.... but that got so hot it stopped lighting red and became clear.

I would try a red LED replacement, should be on ebay somewhere.

sweet dude! i found some! now to find the right size, and do i want 2,6, or 9 led's lol.
