Post Lighting kicks a$$ and so do you guys

First of all let me begin by saying that the Lighting is the greatest truck out there. I personally do not own one yet, but I test drove one yesterday and WOW. Now I see why you guys love you trucks so much. I own a 98 Expedition (the greatest SUV out there), so I am in a different catergory than the L. I have read over many of your posts, and all you guys are the most enthusiastic bunch I have ever seen. I think its great. I see that there are posts and replies 24/7 nonstop. I have no intention of purchasing a L immediately, but whenever I do, you guys will probably know before my ladies does. Take it easy.

This is not good. You are constantly reading the Lightning Board. This will cause you to start doing all kind a of things, sometimes evil things, things that wives do not like.

I would recommend before reading all the posts, take one beer or a glass of wine to relax, to calm your emotions, to help keep at bay that awful, horrible urge to go against the wife and, dare I say it, purchase the world's fastest production truck.

You made a serious mistake, you test drove a Lightning without buying one immediately. You will start having night sweats, many sleepless nights until you see the big boss in the white robe giving you the order to PURCHASE.The next day you must follow his order or this will continue!FORDSALES let the cat out of the bag, truth is,many of us had the Lightning Fever.Only one known cure, thats right, you know what to do.Make the purchase,if not you will be the last to know how mean and inconsiderate you have become!

The thing is I went to Ford to purchase something for my Expy. I saw the Lightning on the showroom floor and wandered on over. A salesman approached me and asked me if I wanted to take her for a spin. I guess he knew I could afford it because he saw me pull up in my customized Expy. He drove the L outside and then told me to jump into the driver's seat. And that was the beginning of the end..... WHOOOAAAAA!!

Thats why I will not drive a Lightning until I can get out of college and afford two trucks. If I drove one I would have to buy it and I bet yall would hate to see a Lightning with a dog box in the back a mud tires going down some old hunting roads. I rode with a guy in a 00 GT and that made me want to trade my 4x4 in on one. But I had to calm my self down and think about how practicle that would be for my uses. However maybe Icould get by with a Lightning though. How do they handle with mud tires on back?

Sounds like DUCK's truck.

Beware of affliction No 2. Once you have purchased a Lightning you will be overcome with an uncontrollable urge to add things to it. Your credit cards will become maxxed out. You will find yourself using the American Express card at the grocery store so you can spend your cash on your truck. There is only one known cure for this. be like WYLDMAN and buy it all.

One solution might be to buy what we used to call in the Northeast a "beater" to haul dogs, compost for the garden and similar Home Depot type stuff and use the Lightning as your "Rush" type vehicle.

As I own a business, I can kinda sorta cheat a little bit and we have a Ranger for the dog hauling and the Lightning for the Rapid Delivery Grocery Getter duty.

Hope that helps.

Cool

Hell's bells, its a truck, for cryin' out loud. I bought mine to tow a boat, not display on a pedestal. I don't hunt any more, but if I did I would not hesitate to throw a dog box in back and head for the woods. I say go for it.
