JohnnyLightning,

I am not sure if you are selling these kits here, if so please observe the vendor rules that you agreed to when registering to use these message boards. I need to corral this before it gets out of control - and believe me, it will get out of control if I don't stop it now.

Thank you.

Steve

F1,

I think what Steve(webmaster) is saying is bandwith ,web space isn't cheap. Not mention the time it takes to moderate this board if you had to pay someone to do what he is doing for free you would have a hard time finding anybody that would do it for what Steve is getting out of it, I doubt this board is going to allow him to retire early. Try and setup a stand selling your stuff inside a mall without their permission and see what happens. They built the structure, they promoted the mall to get people to come, they pay the maintenance and taxes. And for someone to come setup shop without asking is not right I don't think Johnny meant to break the rules but you can't blame Steve for wanting him to stop. I for one think this board is great and want it to stick around for as long a Steve has the time to keep it running.

F1Car,

I don't know Steve personally but I believe Webmasters reasons are as follows:

1) The PAID advertisements on this board help keep the site up and running (and maybe help with profits).

2) If people start advertising on the message boards without PAYING this will be unfair to the advertisers that do PAY.

3) The ones that do PAY will then stop paying and just advertise for free like the rest.

4) This will mean less money for the site and/or for Steve.

5) This will also mean more junk posts to filter through as not all advertisors will be as passionate about Lightnings as, for example, Sal or Johnny Lightning.

That was simple enough wasn't it? No one has to kill anyone!

Mike

That one was pretty nasty; I'll remove it for society sake.

F1, watch your mouth.
Punks like you are why I don't like to post here.

What a Maroon,
Jaq.

P.S. It seems your parents need to take away your Internet privileges for a while.

Jaq,

I KNOW you didn't mean any insult but I just can't let the word "Maroon" be used like that without saying anything. Don't mean to be a jerk just had to point that out - I know people are still using that word but it was born out of racism.

...The name Maroons comes from the Spanish word cimarones wich means "peak dwellers," and also from the word "maron" which means fierce. The Maroons are enslaved Africans who escaped from the Spanish. They set up villages and fought for their homes for 100 years to keep the British away from their homes...

Well Bill, it lasted all of three days. I was going to respond to f1car, but instead I have revoked his posting rights and I am closing this thread.
