Post To wait or not to wait?

Hey guys,

I just thought I would send this through the channels to get some opinions from all of you.

I am now ready to purchase my Lightning and have already found the one for me, however I'm not looking forward to having to replace the intercooler at 20,000 miles.

Waiting is not an issue since I've already been waiting this long and without having a truck any longer I can save up quite a bit of money before January/February.

I think with the introduction of the new intercooler in the 2001's and the bumped up horsepower and rumors of leather it would definately be worth waiting.

Decision's and more decisions

Wait for the 2001. I, for one, prefer getting the latest and greatest.

IMHO

The best would be to wait. BUT if it were me, I would be down tomorrow to get it.

The intercooler issue scares the s**t out of me, too. At this point in the game I think you are better off waiting for an '01.

So far almost everyone that has commented whether it be through e-mail or on this message board has thought that the 2001 would be the way to go.

I was leaning this way originally and you guys have helped to encourage my decision, but I'm pretty sure a 2001 it will be.

I sure hope the 2001's don't have any major problems. The small stuff I can deal with, but the major problems I can do without when buying a truck for this price!

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Just hope it is not like the 99 cobra... I had one I should know... Also my 93 lightning was a lemon... I will not buy a new car first year out again.. I'll wait a year let them get the bugs out. thats why I waited 6 months to buy my bolt. Ford bought both cars back because of the lemons and had doc. proof. I have seen the new bolt and I can say I am impressed. I have seen what then are working on for the intercooler problem am I scared no.. I know when the time comes mine will be upgraded to a better standard. You guys will have to wait and see. I know what I am talking about. I'll buy the 2002 or better yet the 2003 when the baddest grand daddy is gonna come out... V-10 ??? !!!

I would get the 2001, but you will miss some fun seat time by not getting a 2000.
But I would put some Chrome 2000 wheels on it.
