A Night at the Track

Been raining all week, until today here in Jersey. Hurricane is suppose to be bring rain starting tomorrow, so what better thing to do than go to the track tonight.
So off to Atco tonight I go. Its street night so the track isn't prepped as well as it could have been
First pass I spin badly and go a 11.02 @ 125. Now this is full interior, floor mats, seats and rear storage bins full of crap. Tailgate on and BedRug in back, just like I drive it on the street. Iam also blowing thru cats into a Bassani Cat back. This is also my 12 degree timing street tune with the 3.00 upper on the Whipple
Cool the truck down and get in line. Well what the f*%k do you know, I get lined up next to a new Z06, heat the Hooisers, and stage. I gotta wait on him, as he is probably laughing at having to race a truck. He wasn't laughing 1320 ft later.
Iam #110 and he is #6881

So now the plan is to turn up the boost with the 2.75 upper and put the race tune in. Well, hold on........it seems I've been asked to leave the track before I make another pass
But it was still a great night, got to see some old friends and have a good time to boot. Johnny AC and Fast Freddie where there, Johnny snapping pics and Freddie racing his truck too. Gen 1's and Gen 2's where well represented.

Blown318's truck was there too. If you haven't seen his truck in person, your missing out on one sharp looking Gen 2. Paint job looks killer Chris
Oh yeah, with the re-tuning on his truck, I watched it make 2 back to back 10.8 runs. Your going to love your truck bro.

Btw...........Those new Z06's do taste like chicken

Good Time !!!!

It was good seeing you run that 10.68 on a street tune at full weight Bruce. Your truck is really haulin' A$$ Dude. I had a blast, and for once got to relax and take some pics, shoot the chit, and hang out with the DelValLO bunch.

Congrats Once Again

Bruce,
I had to pull over on the Return Road to watch your run.

I must say, it was quite impressive:
Heavy Weight, Street Tune, No Juice = Mid Tens!

The next time you plan to run a full second under the cage rule, save it for the ***** out run!

If the Chevy driver reacted on time you would have had a race...
...it would have been closer.

(Can't wait to hear Robby's comeback)

Chris,
Ditto to what Gator said!
Truck is fast and looks GREAT!
You're an asset to the Lightning community.

Well that was kinda the plans. The first run of 11.0, nothing was said about no cage, so I figured might as well see what the truck would do on the street program hooking up. Then make the change over to the race program and upper pulley, make one pass and call it a night.
I was told the track announcer really made a deal about the Lightning running a 10.6, so that was probably the killer

Not Enough was done to it to hang with the Lightning crowd

**edit**

I've gotten a few e-mails asking what kind of boost my Whipple was running at.
To answer............18 lbs with the 3.00 upper and an 8lb lower

Wow, your truck is flying. 18 pounds with that setup Do you have cats? What exhaust setup? I thought most trucks hit around 21 psi with that combo.

Oh and we need pics Sounds like a very fun night.

Nice one Gator - JOB DONE EH.

Hope to meet up at the JDM day, us two brit Lightning Loonies are coming over again.

Getting well over 20 Llbs boost with the 8 lower and 3.0 upper.
So hoping to Dyno now motor well bedded in.

We are less than 400ft above sea level and the the temps are cooler now.
Average 16-24 deg C also running AFCO lower rad so it helps keep that Whipple Charge even cooler.

Ricki

Great runs Gator. I still have to give a thumbs up to the Z06 driver. Her cut an awesome 60ft time. Couldn't have been a stock Z06. Must have at least had slicks.
