I have the Lightning and a couple Mustangs laying around and I would rather drive the L everyday. I love my truck. She sits outside my window at work and I lose track of what I am doing every so often cause I am lookin at her hehe I have had her in rain and snow and ice and 100 degree heat and she just keeps on truckin. I would be totally content if both of the Mustangs were stolen *and I could get mod money from the insurance company* tomorrow. Okay maybe just the 91. I have emotional attachments to the 66. hehe

Cool

I adopted my L on 26 May and now have 3900 miles on her, and I carpool!!! All happy miles. Only one drawback, fuel consumption! I never thought I would live to see the day when I would say that I have to drive my Vette because it gets BETTER gas milage!!! The L is my daily driver and I love it!!!

My L. became my daily driver when I totalled my Civic in March. Thinking about a replacement for the Civic, not so much because of the lousy milage, but because I am paranoid about exposing the L. to all the rotten drivers out there. Thinking about something economical, that can haul my dogs, but still reasonably fun- maybe a ZX3. Any suggestions?

Mine's a daily driver, with 9200 miles on it in 4 and a half months. Got my best ever mileage yesterday with 14.0 MPG.

Hey Alpha,

Haven't talked to you in a while. We still need to meet up sometime for a cruise!

I have been looking for a place to get gears installed. So far I have gotten my springs and exhaust done at "Ventura Brake & Muffler", which is across from an auto parts store. Do you know a good place for a gear install?

Thanks,
Matt

Thumbs up

I use mine as my daily driver. Bought it Feb 29th and have 4800 miles on it. This is the most comfortable daily driver I have ever had. Tons of torque, smooth ride, doesn't pull from lane to lane, no squeaks or rattles, after I get in after work and it's 115 degrees outside it only takes a few minutes to cool the cab down. I'm gonna pound the miles on this thing and just be lovin life. This is the first Ford I've ever owned won't be the last.

I use mine as a daily driver as it is our only car now (wife doesn;t drive....yet. hold out for a Benzo)

anyway, had mine for just over a year and turned over 11,000 miles last night. yes, my commute is short and i has another car too.

I dont abuse mine but i do give a good flogging everynow and then just to burn the carbon out and usually on some nimrod mullet redneck in a 78 dumaro held together with bailing wire. they're gettin learnt (why did that post go away??!?!?!?!?!)

mileage is a b*tch but now the prices have eased up a bit, it isn't too painful.

overall, BUY ONE!!!!!!!!!

Had mine for almost two months and already have about 4000 on it. I still havn't made a payment yet; it's due July 31st. I will most likely sell it in 2 years for a new one on A-plan. It's my sole mode; I drove a 97 SS and an Xtremely slow S-10 before the L.

I am a daily driver, for at least an 80 mile round trip to my work and back. I love driving the L and where I use to hate the long commute, now I love it. I average about 3 little short races per day from people along the way that want to try me out.

This is the most fun vehicle I have ever driven. I drive it every day. Since putting in the Superchip my Mileage is up to 13.5. Which is little highway speeds and lots of WOT. Tires are expensive and Gas is expensive but if those things are a real concern buy an Escort or a 4 cyl Ranger

Yep Daily driver - I sold my 1996 Cobra Convertible and a Toyota Tacoma - cause the L does it all - goes fast, turns heads, and hauls stuff. I picked mine up on Memorial day - have 4300 miles on it already, mostly highway. I have a best of 17.5mpg, all highway 65 - 72mph , and a worse of 12.3mpg, after a day at the drag strip. I average about 15.5. I think I could nail 19mpg if I could stay out of it for a tank, but I love that blower whine.

I have no regrets about selling my Cobra - it was an awesome car, and I'll get another one someday, but the L is faster, without a doubt. I have the timeslips to prove it.

FWIW - I could never leave the Cobra anywere, it attracted attention, the dolts of the world notice it, park near it, try to steal the snakes off the fenders, etc. The morons of the world think the L is just a pickup truck, so it goes mostly ignored.

The guys driving Audis and BMW M3's on the other hand, will never ignore another L. My favorite kills. Beamers.
