Question Where to find a switch with a timer built in

Well I did it again
I forgott to turn the switch that controlls my intercooler pump at the track off, after I went racing last weekend. Since I don't drive the Lightning every day, when I went to drive it the other day the battery was dead.

I would like to find a switch that has a timer built into it, so if I forget to turn the switch off, it will go off by it self.

Anyone have any idea if anyone makes a switch like that. Something that you can either turn like a egg timer, or something that will turn off after a hour, or a few hours.

Thanks

haha

I bet your fluid was cool though!!!

Yeah, a lighted switch in the cab would be an option, as long as you look at it when you exit.

You could add a switch similar to what is used on alarms to signal a hood/trunk opening, but wire it so that the pump can only run while the hood is open.
This way, when you shut the hood the circuit shuts off...no timer to mess with.

The above post is correct a mecury switch or pin switch throwing ground to a fire a relay only allowing the swith to operate while the hood is open. This would no be bad to wire up and could all be done under hood.

You could always go to a Kenworth dealer and get a timer switch from them. They put them in the tractors as kind of a turbo timer but it can be set from 1 min to 15 min
