Post pro m maf and swansons chip

Installed the pro-m and the swanson chip in my 2000 tonight and here are the results acording to the g-tech:
super chip standard program, bassani cat back otherwise stock 14.33 @ 102mph at 1200' altitude 80 degrees and 70-72 degree dewpoint. 275 miles on truck.
Swanson's chip, pro m, bassani cat back, 60 degrees, same altitude, 50 degree dewpoint, and 402 miles on truck 13.88 @ 106 mph
The truck still is not nearly as fast as my 99 truck that i have with a full bassani system, psp chip, psp filter. Last time at the track I ran seven times and all my runs were 13.52 to 13.58 in 78 degree heat and terribly humid.
the 99 is much quicker and more fun to drive at this point but it also has 2600 miles on it.
Just thought some of you would be curious of my results.
Brian

Hey Brian sounds like your having fun! Your times look pretty good. Much faster than I am currently running. I just installed a MAF and have both the PSP and SuperChip.. My truck won't run under a 14.5 on my Vericom VC 2000 mostly because my 60' times with the PSP are 2.75-2.95. So putting on the MAF & Filter actually slowed me down because of wheel spin. Even from a 5mph roll it just smokes them until it shifts into 2nd. So having prevoiously tested the SuperChip which was slightly slower I though it might offer better traction off the line. So out with the PSP and in with the SuperChip and off the line only 10' of spin running strong shifts into 3rd and KaBoom!! Seems I have a very large problem now (i.e. the truck doesnt run with out or any chip) Got it towed home and haven't felt like looking into the problem yet,,, this happen Saturday Night. I dont think this has anything to do with the SuperChip as I had run it before with no problems. The motor wasnt pinging and felt strong until about 1 second into 3rd. Yes it turns over but very, very very slowly.. Dam it..

Brian I should be able to go,, I look forward to meeting you. Don't know what the problem is yet, got the truck started without a chip finally. Its running badly, plugs look ok so I am hoping its not mechanical. When it shifts into 3rd it just lays down. Only picks up 2mph from the 1/8 to the 1/4 Tried several things and it feels like a chevy iron duke once 3rd arrives (No Power). I am going to try to get an appointment to have it seen soon. No check engine light though..

MNLIGHTNING, 60's in the 2.75-2.95 range? Dont mind me saying that is pretty sad . Ever thought about feathering the throttle instead of just Mashing the pedal? lol

Have you been reseting the computer between all this testing your trying to do? Are you showing any boost after the 3rd gear shift? Sounds you have a strange problem there, let me know what you find out. Good luck

Tundra,
My 2000 is also red, my favorite color.

Mn,
I have a set of drag radials and have been gettin 60' times in the 2.0-2.1 sec range at the track. It might be worth a try putting them on your truck for a run or two.

Do you race your Sno Pro's; I'd guess you have to in able to even buy one. I'm looking at a new 99 that a Canadien dealer still has leftover for around $5,500 complete, US. How much different are the new ones compared to the 99's? Right now, I've got a 99 fan cooled that I'm trying to seel; I dont' race. Just a trail rider.

Badbolt,
Yes, I race cross country and also a few snow cross races that our curcuit has early in the season.
The 2000 sno pro's handle about the same as the 99's but, the big difference is in the engine. If you can find a 2000 buy one. They are so much more trouble free and you have no maintainance in the exhaust valves. The 99 valves will have to be taken apart and cleaned every 100-200 miles. thats fine for racing but difficult for trail riding.
If you are interested I have my 2000's for sale. One of them is has been snow crossed and shows the effects of it. The other is just like new, probly doesn't have more than 100-200 miles on it. The second one I lowered for smooth tracks to get a lower center of gravity for better handling.
If interested let me know, or if you have any questions on them I would be glad to help.
Brian

Tundra: Vericom VC 2000 works on the same principal as the GTech. The difference being that the GTech is a toy and is very inaccurate in comparision to the Vericom. I have the version VC 2000 which has a memory for downloading information into my desktop or laptop. You can graph out your acceleration over the full 1/4 mile.
its a great tuning tool. It also has a tach interface so you can see where your making power... I havent hooked this part up on the L yet.

Spiro99SVT. Yea, those 60' times are very sad, I have tried easing into the gas and end up with the same times with in a tenth. I didn't notice a boost loss but will take it out and see if that might be the problem. Major Bummer though it really lays down.
The only thing to keep in mind is with the Vericom you don't get any rollout advantage so your 60' times at the track are usually about .2-.3 tenths quicker, but even taking that into account it makes for seeing alot of rear bumpers... Working on a
traction solution, i.e. bigger wheels and tires.

And on top of everything else a rock was shot out of our skid loader track and broke my front window today. Should have left it in the garage but I love driving it.. Maybe I should drag race some of the Chevy guys while pulling a 8500lbs skid loader I think the L might still win!

Tried to get your email, but, couldn't find one. I went to MAPQUEST to get a distance from your city to mine and got a total distance of 660 miles. Maybe you could send me details on the sled that's been lowered. Can you restore stock suspension travel, how much you want for it, and maybe a picture or two. Send me an email at:

Brain I traded my 885 last August for a Case 95XT. We use it for lifting lumber and windows of the trucks and moving stuff around. It doesn't do much dirt work. One of the Landscapers we use is in the market for a new 885 he demo'ed one a couple of days ago. If your interested let me know,, as always its about pricing..

Silver

The Vericom is a great tool. I used it for prop tuning on our drag boat and the Firebird I had. I would recommend it they have a base unit starting at 595 or something like that.
