Cool New Motor

Well after waiting almost 2 months on parts for an intercooler replacement Now I have to wait for a new motor...Can you see the shock and Disappointment on my face....snicker.
The intercooler was plugged up bad. Looked like grease with some particulates. Makes a nice paste. The paste was all over the rotors and the body casting. In fact it looks as if the build up was causing wear to the rotors as they weren't silver any longer but grey colored along the edges. Nasty looking crap. The Windsor plant Guy said it was caused by the coolant and gases that are pulled into the intake via the crankcase ventilation valve. Combined it makes this nice sludge. So...first they said new intercooler as well as the cats and sensors...the gaskets actually took the longest. Then it was We'll send a new supercharger as well. Now it's a new complete engine. Running Assembly was the phrase they used I believe. I was loosing
power as the G-tech runs where down almost 4 tenths. My Friend the Service Manager has a 2000 L. Anyway the downtime may be worth it.
I don't have the high Falootin' warranty so I have to drive My Merkurs for now. Actually I am tweaking them and getting excited about them all over again...Could be fun. Now more bad news...the clearcoat and paint is peeling on all four rims around the mounting holes. But Now the good news...New rims ..I "Heart" Ford.. Considering the JBA's now....not sure if the gain is worth the cost. Now would be the prime time to install. Will post pics of the goo....in a day or so. I must say I am pleased with Ford's decision to replace the motor after seeing the muck. Sure the #'s will not match but I can live with it..I guess..Maybe I'll have to argue for some cash...laugh, for the value depreciation.
I guess the motor will have some type of warranty...12 and 12 maybe...Anyone know for sure.....Truck has over 33000 on it. Looks brand new...Grin.
Any comments on things to do while the old is being pulled for the new. I wonder if Ford would let me buy the old motor .....
Might be worth a try. The old motor for the depreciated value of the truck. Yeah Right...
A man can Dream.....later Bro's.

I wonder if you are gonna get a 2001 motor. Too bad if you aren't. Try to persuade the powers at be to get you one, for the depreciated value of your truck. 380bhp, 450 ft.lbs. Thats what was said here anyways. Good luck

Question

I wonder if anything was actually changed or are these new numbers simply more accurate.

I suspect the latter......

Congratulations on the new motor...Ford DOES step up to the plate sometimes....I wish they would on the damn CA bolt.
