Question Question: MPG for 2002/2003 Models

Hello Team F150 Lightning
I, am new to the family.
Well not quite yet, I want to buy one but
I have no idea what the Miles per Gallon
for such a car is. Lets assume for if one
drives it normal, without exaggerated gas.
The car seller said its 18/20, but on
cars.com it says 14/17.
So thought I ask you forum and hope
someone can help. Also please let me
know if there is anything else to consider
or look at when buying a 2002/2003 model
with around 60k miles. Is 20000 USD a
fair price?
Thank you for your time and atention
when providing input for me. And I ll let
you all know when I finally got my 1st
Lightning.

Regards, Patrick

Hate to be a smart*ss, but with a supercharged 5,000 lb truck, if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it. And it sounds like you are in a foreign country with expensive gas on top of that.

I don't know what my mileage is. I've never measured it. It would be too depressing.

I've heard of as high as 16 on the highway. NFW you will get 18 MPG around town. Stay away from the seller. He is lying about the mileage. No telling what else he is lying about.

What Tim said plus, I get 15+ mpg on my 2001 L and that's driving it in a conservative manner(a few WOT launches and up to 80 mph on the interstate with 75% of my driving done on the interstate).

Real worl most people see 11-12mpg city and 14 highway.

I usually got 9-10 city and 13-14 highway, but I drive like an assh0le.

I drive mine fairly conservatively. I do drive it quite a bit. Its an 02 with 68k on the clock. I keep track of every drop ever put in it. City averages 11.2-12.7, highway (my last road trip 1300 miles one way) 17.6-18.4. I tow a 21ft bass boat with a 250 on it and a tandem trailer that weighs about 3300lbs. I average 10.75-11.3 on the highway towing at 70-75 mph. My only mods are K&N drop in filter with 4" air box hole and Magnaflow high flow cat midpipes and catback. Hope this helps.

Fuel mileage?

EPA rating on them in ideal conditions is 14/21 for 99-00 and 13/17 for 01+ as per the Ford sales brochure. The difference must be mainly because of the rear end gears 3.55 vs 3.73.

I drive my stock 2003 L pretty conservatively, almost every day and almost exclusively on back roads, and average 14 MPG. The highest I've ever gotten was a little over 16 MPG, and that's only happened a couple times.

I have an '04 and the 14 / 17 is pretty accurate, if you keep your foot out of it. To get the 17 on the highway, keep the RPMs at or below 2,000 and don't accelerate like a dragster...

I was till just about two months ago (picked up a low cost DD), driving my 03 to work 50 miles each way on the freeway.
at 80 mph it averaged 16 running 70 mph it went up to 17 mpg.
very little city involved.
I am running a KB and 60 lb inj. with a very rich summer tune at 10 degrees timing.

Get a daily driver like me and save the lightning for fun.
