Cool Finally, an LS1 steps up to the plate.

After trying to get 3 different LS1's to play(2 Birds and 1 Camaro) one finally stepped up to the plate. Told him to go when he was ready and when he did I hit mine. Jumped a 1/2 truck on him outta' the hole and jumped a little more each shift to where I had pulled about 2 trucks to 90MPH and he had to get in behind me because of traffic. A close race but fun.

Thumbs up

Thndr,
Excellent Kill! Glad to hear some LS1's have the "brass knocks" to run us every now and then! I've run a few(in my impetuous youth...like two months ago!),all kills, only two were sticks though. Most seem weary to go toe to toe,no glory in losing to a truck! LOL
Keep up the good work, Lord knows someone has to pick up my slack!

I got a Bird to finally race the other day, i pulled on him hard. I had at least 2 and 1/2 cars on him when he pulled on to the express way and would not look at me heh.

I finally got a Vette to race. It was around a 95 one or so. I was amazed someone in a vette actually wanted to race =). I spanked him pretty good he looked at me when he rolled by and was pretty amazed.

I spanked a muskrat the other day and the guy was asking if it was stock, i told him no, raced again spanked him, he was like what all did you do to that. Then i told him i lowered it 2"'s in the back heh.

I have a hard time getting in alot of races i have to sneak up to the light and get in someone elses race. After i beat both of them, they kind of look over and are like where the hell did that truck come from.

My favorite saying is "Its just a truck".

Heh

Last friday, a couple of friends and I decided the Lightning was getting a little hungry. We head out to the local cruise spot, Northern Lights, between Minnesota and Ne Seward. We do a couple of circles, checkin this ride and that.

Then we notice a 454SS, it was damn clean, and lowered, who knows what else. I roll by, throw a nice throaty rev, smile and keep going. Sure enough, a couple of lights down, we get caught up in a red light. He gets the far left lane, me 2 lanes over. I rev, the other fellow fast truck enthusiasts look over and smile as the other light changes color. Green light comes, and they turn left. Man that really sucked.

Later on, a group of kids my age caught my friends attention, so we pull up and deicide to run his 97 WS6 vs. my 99 Lightning. He just got the car used, with only a rappy exhaust. I tell him and his friends its gonna be a close race, but somehow they don't beleive me. We head down to the last stop light between Anchorage and Seward, both ready to go. Light turns green, I launch at 1000 rpms, and its neck and neck. 1-2 shift comes up for me, smoothly, and I gain about 1 inch. we keep going and he misses third, gotta love that grinding sound. From here on out I do not like brake-torquing (spell?). Seems to be a dog off the line, and the other guys were very surprized to keep up so well. I guess it helps having 3 people at 150 lbs, 70 lbs of tools in the bed, PLUS a full tank of gas.
We line up again, on the way back to the strip, and its neck and neck again, with me pulling away, much easier this time around. Turns out this guys clutch is going out.
