Post New rims.... Thinking about 20's

Think i can stuff 20's under the L with a low profile tire? I would love to slam the L on the ground but with Michigan driving and having about tore the front valance off already i am going to stay with my 2" shackles in the back. So my new plan is maybe try 20's to fill up the fender fell, but i do not want the truck to sit any higher. I would think that a 20 with a Lo pro tire should be around the same as our 18's with the fatty rubber that is on them now. Let me know what you think.

Thanks
Jason

20'S ARE AWESOME ON F150S,BUT ON A LIGHTNING THAT WOULD LOOK TIGHT, BUT MAY SLOW U DOWN THOU. MORE CROME AND MORE WORK FOR THE ENGINE, BUT WOULD REALLY LOOK SHARP!!

I think 20s would look great but you might have to lower it about 2 to 3in to make up for the fender well to tire spacing. I would not go lower than 3in though. If you have any rims in mind please try to post a picture, I too have been contemplating some "twankies". ( down south flow, ebonics)

LOL CAKA! The first thing I thought of when I saw 20" was "twankies", but figured everyone here would be baffled by it!

I already have my truck lowered 3/4 so that is taken care of I don't know what size tire yet, nor the spacing. These were the only pics I could find, and those are 17's

Hello all..

There are a bunch of F-150's and a few new lightnigs on 20's down here in Miami.. it does look good.. even if you do not lower the truck any more ( but it looks best if you do )

I do not know what size tires they were using but.. I asume there is a tire that will maintain the correct hight..

The latest Truckin' magazine has an article on 20" tires and rims using a Expedition and a X/C 8' bed F150 as test vehicles for tire testing. Nitto's, Toyo's, (2) Goodyears, BFG's and another (can't remember) were were tested. Great coverage of rims as well in the issue.

Check it out.

Ya i read that already. Is it just me or do those seem huge on that f-150. I know they are 20's, i want to fill up the fenderwell but try to keep the same height as the 18's (using a lower profile tire). Do you think the bigger rims and extra weight will slow me down much in the 1/4 mile? I quess if i take slim fast shakes for a few months i can shave the weight i added from the rims
