Exclamation MT DRAG RADIALS QUESTION

Well, I have been experimenting with 104 percents for several weeks. As most of you know my truck is bone stock except for a K&N in the box. I've been running BFG drag radials and in the 1/8 turning best 8.93 with an avg around 9.0. I've been running a 33% mixture of 104 to 66% 93.

Last night I had a 50-50 mixture. Before I could launch at 800-1000, but last night I spun the tires big time. My times were as bad as 9.45 and my 60's were awful. A good 60' for me is 2.09. Obviously, I had too much hp for the tires. When the sun went down I was finall able to launch at idle and turned a 8.96. What good is horsepower if you can't hookup, right? So on to another expenditure-- MT drag radials.

I see that there are two sizes that will fit the 16" rims that I am using-- 26X10.50R16 and 26X11.5R16. Seems like the 11.5s would be the ones to use. Is anyone running these and will they fit?

Noel-

I have got the 11.5's also. They fit fine on those 7.5 inch wide ford rims I got.

They "fit" does not mean they are correct fit. That said I wouldn't recommend the 11.5" on the standard wheel, but if you must, make sure they are screwed in.

I have a ford 7.5" rim with the 10.5"s.

Technically speaking, Silverbullet is correct. An 8 inch rim is recommended for an 11.5 inch wide tire. Practically speaking, from my own experience, I don't have any issues/problems with mine. The combo works well together, and I am glad I got the wider tire.

Hey Noel, I have the 11.5s and the recommended rim is 9 or 10in but will work on an 8in. I have the 10in rims as you probably remember, and have the tubes also. I though I waisted money on the tubes but after talking to Wyldman I now think I did the right thing, his seem to go almost flat while sitting around not in use. I run 16lbs of pressure but as much as 18 or 19 seemed about the same to me. My rims, tires and tubes, mounted& balanced all together were $560 at discount tire. More than I wanted to spend but well worth it. Get em!

Noel-

Dang, you really have to be specific hear. The MINIMUM recommended width rim is 8 inches. The wider the better. 7.5 inch rims seem to work fine, you be the judge??? I was running 18 lbs last night. I agree with Caka, tubes might be a good idea. Mine went flat in two weeks, not a big deal if you use them every week and check the pressure, but a nice to have anyway.

Got a question? When did M/T start offering Drag radials. I know that there are ET Streets and ET Drags but not aware of a Drag Radial. Would like to see one. Who uses ET Drags and who uses ET Streets? Do you see a difference?

My apologies BABOLT. We're talking about ET Street (tm) Nylon, black, tubetype, D.O.T. passed catalog # 3793 tires.
