Question SVT Lightning Header

Tried to order the windshield header from the ford catalog but was told that they no longer make it. I was wondering if anybody had ordered one & decided not to put it on or if anyone could get it from a ford show. If anyone can get one I will gladly pay you for it. Prefer the one that says SVT F-150 Lightning but would consider the large SVT one.

I had my local tint shop do it for free (of course I paid to have my windows tinted there).

Cool

Exactly as Duck put it - put a few drops of liquid soap in a squirt bottle, which will be used as a lube. Make sure your windshield is perfectly clean (no lint, etc.) and go through a trial run for alignment. I made small grease pencil marks on mine. Put slits on top, middle, and bottom of letter carrier. Peel off backing, generously spray windshield with soap solution, and let er rip! With enough of the solution applied, you can remove and reposition the banner as needed. It helps to have a helper with a steady hand. Also, it's best to do it in a garage - out of the sun and no wind. If the windshield dries and the letters hit it out of position, you might as well start looking for another banner. Hope this helps!

Cool

Just wanted to know if anybody could help with the instalation of windshield header. Just want to make sure I get it right. I thought it had been discussed before & did a search but couldn't find anything. Tried to e-mail bluedefens but it wouldn't go through. I typed it in just as I had seen on this site when I did a search but still couldn't get through.

Thumbs up

Try asking Sal or Spiro about putting one on. I watched them do Christy's at WFC and they did a great job. They used soapy water as a lube so the banner wouldn't stick and cut slits between each letter so it would "conform" to the shape of the windshield a little better. Anyway, I'm sure they could help you out.

Thanks guys for the help & info. I think I'll see if the guys who tinted my windows will do this for me sounds a little more involved for me. I don't want to mess it up.
