Ok, let me say that I totally screwed up a nice combination. SuperChip, AirRAID filter,
removal of muffler and tail pipe, 25 lbs rear tire pressure, gave an all time best ET of 13.342 Only Mods done on BOLT.
Perhaps the lack of muffler reduced the torque enought that I was able to launch full tilt from idle with a little wheel spin But good hook up with 1.98 - 2.01 60 '
Now that I put on the Flowmasters with H pipe and Drag race ONLY SuperChip it was a total diaster. 2.3 - 2.5 60 ' terrible ETs
So much wheel spin now, it really isn't any fun. just frustrating...now I know what ZorPrime was complaining about with 3.73 gears. NO TRACTION !
So now I have to get slicks/drag radials with ugly steel wheels to even begin to get back to 13.3. 2nd run I came out easy ..still 2.3 60' and only a 14.0 ET
I tried position one on last run. I get the BOLT stright but still spinning a looong time and I knew when it hooked I would be going too fast so as I let up it hooked and jerked a little to the right. No need to crash for a terrible ET anyway.
It seems I have alot more torque But alot worst ET now, so its hell going from 13.3 to 14s. Those that are running low ETs you GOT to have changed the rubber or I can't believe 13.0s, what tires are you using ?
Any advice ?

MT E/T Streets hook real well in cool conditions. But havent seen a difference yet in real hot weather.I also heard that thos caltrac traction bars can make a difference too.Did you try lowering the psi in your tires just a little?I know when i had my best stock ET i only had 17 psi in my rear tires. Also the weight in the back will help too.
It was pretty humid yesterday also, that could have also effected your ET....

ZorPrime with the MTs and 16 " wheels does that boost up your ratio even more than the 3.73s you have ? 3.90 ? I take it you suggest I get the 16" steel wheels and put on the MTs. Let me know when you guyss are racing again if you would.
Hi dorgunr,
It will take some adjustment of your starting line technique, but you're right, most of the guys running those 13.0's & high 12's with their Superchips are using drag radials, DOT slicks, etc.
This is a *good* problem to have, at least there is plenty of power.
Now it's just a matter of traction, and a fairly inexpensive set of drag radials will help quite a bit.
Most guys are picking up a spare set of wheels & drag radials they can throw on to go to the track, and that's working well.
Good luck!

Dorgunr,
I will bring my E/T Streets when I go to Byron next time and you're welcome to try them out. It looks like the weekend of July 29/30th or Aug. 5/6 is the next time we will go to the track. Zorprime ,myself and probably a few other Lightning owners will head down there. My best run so far on those tires has been a 13.57 with the trans shifting at 4500 rpm. A calibrated chip from PSP is on it's way.
