will a ECU off a 99/00 5.4 liter F-150 be ok to use in a lightning?

 

I'm sure Sal will chime in with the correct answer but I can tell you it was in his shop I saw him take a customers Reg F-150 and install a Lighting Motor and Trans, I asked about the computer and he said he used the orig reg F-150 Computer and loaded a Lighting tune into it. I dont know for sure if it can be done the other way around (but I'd guess yes) and I dont know if he had to make any special changes or alterations.
But I DO KNOW he has the answer to your question.

I also know you can upgrade to a newer L Computer and Vinnie "had" a Brand spanking new one in the Box a while ago, dont know if he still does ?

What Code is the Computer you want to use ???

Unfortunately the L was sold :o BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN
If your saying the computer you want to use on the L is CUX1
THAT IS THE CORRECT COMPUTER FOR A 99 L
(I'd like to see someone else agree, but I'm sure thats the 99 Code......)

 

yep that is it, i think the other code is like axu or aux something like that for the newer ones. I used both in my 2002, just needed sal to change the paps code(think that is what it is called for the key programming).

 

All Lightning computers are interchangeable as long as you have the correct PATS programming and the right size MAF to match.
