The One Lap Lightning
I heard from my friends that the Lightning that finished third in class in this year's One Lap was a bone-stock L purchased a few days before One Lap when the entrant's custom made car wasn't ready in time. Makes you wonder what an L with a proper set-up, i.e., Roush lowered, PSP/chip, transmission kit, bigger brakes(vs. pads)and softer tires (oops they found some Michelins) would have done. The competition was very stiff in this one with Ron Adee's custom Dodge running a NASCAR engine and trick suspension.

The bolt seems to be in the August issue of Car and Driver. Check out page 123. Near the bottom is a pic of some guys loading an air mattress out of a ranger. I swear thats a silver lightning in the background.
