Thumbs up

I've noticed a lot of posts from people on here saying that Sal needs to get off the board and get back to work. While I can sort of see whay y'all are saying (in a sick and twisted sort of way), wouldn't y'all also agree that Sal needs to at least try to defend his name and the PSP brand name. It is impossible for anyone to sit back and take a "blasting" without responding. I'm sorry, but if someone on this board started taking shots at you and your business (which happens to get a lot of business because of the board), you wouldn't take a little bit of time and explain / defend yourself?

I am also aware that there are a limited few of y'all that ordered Sal's chip / filter but have decided to run something else. That's fine. If it makes your L run better, then by all means, go ahead. It boils down to the fact that every one of these trucks is different and sometimes this sort of thing can happen. However, I will also say that on the whole, people who purchased PSP products are EXTREMELY happy with them.

Also, there are many who say that Sal should hire some help. While in theory this is a good idea, it may be harder to execute than you think. Not only do you have to go out and find someone with the skills needed to do work of this nature, you have to you have to find one close to you, make sure he's / she's honest (and is not gonna try and screw you over), "train" them to work in your particular setting, etc. Plus, that would mean raising prices. There is also the whole "nobody does it like I do", thing. I know that when something is important and I want it done right, I do it myself. Besides, do you want someone with less knowledge than Sal making a product for your $35,000 truck?

I will also say that I know the frustration some of y'all face when ordering these products. Hell, I waited nine months for my truck. But c'mon, give this guy a break. He busts his a$$ day in and day out trying to help us (the Lightning owners) out. I've had the privelage to meet Sal at WFC this year, and I can tell you that he is a straight-shooting honest guy. He even paid (I don't even want to know how much) to sponser the event so he could be sure that Lightnings get some recognition. Don't you want a guy with this kind of enthusiasm for our trucks to be the one working on it?

I need to cut this off. There's more I want to say, but this is long enough already. This guy bends over backwards to help make our trucks run that much better, and all some of y'all can do is b1tch and moan. It's not like he comes home and says "Ya know...I'm tired. I don't want to work on any filters tonight. Pi$$ on [your name here]. He can wait."

Sorry about the rant, but this kind of stuff gets to me.

DUCK

BTW, for any of the Ags out there, isn't this a perfect example of "Highway 6 runs both ways." I thought so, too.

Keep up the good work Sal**slap on the back**.

Mad, you aren't anything but a **** stirring little troll who can't figure out why no one will listen to his (in his mind anyway) justified rants. Sal has earn his respect, if you want the same you'll have to earn it, too.**slap up side the head**

Duck, Aggies suck. Go Horns!!! LOL
Just kidding about you Aggies.
Sal makes the BEST products, but I too would like to see him catch up. I need to send my chip back for some changes, but I'm afraid he would have it forever, as far behind as he is. I want him to catch up so he can finish some of his new products (intercooler fans, trans. cooler, etc.). I have money burning a hole in my pocket right now.

I think most of y'all just need to chill out. Buy the product you like, post your comments about it, let others read and make their own damn decisions. If you don't to wait, don't, go get something else. If you want to wait, wait and get what you want. This post's topic has been recycled a few times over now.

I havn't seen this much name calling since high school. I understand why Sal posted, I was reading a different unrelated thread where all of a sudden the thread changed topic to rip on PSP...wtf? Keep your issues in email and on the phone, it dosn't belong here and we don't want to have to wade through all the "is my chip sent yet" posts, as that is what PERSONAL communication is for. It doesn't getting answered any quicker on the board then it does anywhere else, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that is tired of reading it.

When the wait is over, I plan on ordering my PSP gear. I liked what I've read about it and about Sal's work. I'm waiting, but I havn't been hounding every 2 days to find out if "daddy, are we there yet".

Pawn,

If Sal comes in here and wants to know why everyone is picking on him, don't blame people for telling him.

I don't blame folks for getting irritated when they can't even get an order confirmation, let alone a product delivery.

I respect what Sal's trying to do, too. But he is sinking his boat, and can't pump water fast enough.

Putting a filter on the end of a tube or burning a chip is not rocket science. Once the R&D is done, he should be able to get them knocked out. If he hasn't got the capacity, he should increase it. If he can't afford too, then he probably shouldn't pretend to be a business, and just keep it as a hobby. This may sound harsh, but he's at that awkward stage when he has to make that decision.

Red face

Seems as though we have not learned anything from the past. Sal has been beat, horse whipped and tarred/feathered over his ability to produce his quality products in a timely manner and provide customer service/feedback via Email.

I had to wait for the PSP filter kit for over 8 weeks and like others was taken back at the amount of time to receive something that was advertised. It is a quality product that comes with all the hardware and simple instructions for installation. Not pieces of plastic that may or may not fit and lacks parts.

I stand behind the PSP filter as a quality piece for the Lightning. However, there is a down side here too and we have beat it to death. Sal's operations still lacks customer attention. As with everyday life we do not want to hear excuses of why people do not get answers from the manufactuer when you are the manufactuer. If a company is willing to take someone's hard earned money, they should have the common courtesy to respond to the buyer or potential buyers questions... If it is broke fix it and then tell us how you fixed it.
Sal I like your filter kit, but you do not answer your Email. I know beacuse I asked about geting some things sorted out before I went with your chip next.
Enough bashing has taken place about who is king of the hill in the chips arena. The consumer has the real results ... the chipped Lightning. They know what they expected and what they got.... they speak here about it. Sal's products speak for themselves.
However, Sal's customer service is in dire straights. Fix it Sal..... just fix and then tell us after it works how you fixed it.
By the way.... answer my 3 week old Email I sent you as part of the fix.
Pat on the back Sal, but you do have problems and it is not with what you manufactuer for Lightning owners, but customer service.

I concur with Masterloggie. Sal makes quality products, but his lack of response to his customers really hurts his image, reputation, and business. Sal, if you need an example Lisa told me on 5-30 that my filter kit (ordered on 3-17) would be shipped in two weeks. It's been over a month and still nothing, including no response to the phone message or e. mail I sent you. Sal, your skill as a craftsman isn't the problem, it's your lack of skill as a businessman that's hurting you.

Let me first say that I expected all these responses here in this post. I also really appreciate all of them (well, the relevant ones), positve or negative. The positve comments reassure me that I am doing my job well, and the negative comments tell me what I need to work on. And I promise to all of you, that I will try to greatly improve my customer service. Actually, I don't think it's fair to say that my "customer service" is the problem, more like the correspondance end of it. I like to think my customer service is pretty damn good. I take care of my customers best I can. I don't charge for re-burns, even if it's a change and not a "fix" to a problem. I ship everything 2-3 Priority Mail, I have refunded the select few people who have returned my products with no questions asked. While it may be hard to get a hold of me right now, at least my customers have the piece of mind to know that I will always help anyway I can. But agian, thanks to all for the feedback.

Don't sweat it Sal, at least you know what you're talking about.
I caught rumor there there was some company on this board throwing out chips that they didn't even program themselves. They were going on this board, grabbing the customers, get the order and send off for them, while making a nice commission.
That's the company that should be getting bashed, whoever they are. Cheap advertising I guess, and a way to make a fast buck, and got the small Lightning market cornered onto one board.
Cheers

Wow....

Lots going on here. It's neat to hear from those that are so dismayed with ordering from Sal. I have to ask though....are you totally happy with your current setup? If you are, then great! smile!

I mean, when you take a look at Sal's filter setup, it's really no big deal. A simple mating flange with a tube and a filter. Not real hard to make but try to make them in quantity and perfect each time, then try to make sure you have all of the materials all of the time and hope that the air filters or outerwears jackets aren't out of stock or the powdercoater isn't backlogged. I think you see my point here. I am not defending Sal here at all, it's just a harsh reality if you own your own side-business. You try real hard to please everyone but you just can't keep up with the demand. I appreciate quality and what I have seen from PSP, I like it, so I will wait for it. No problem. If you can do a better job or build a better product and supply everyone, then do it! However, I don't see too many stepping up to the bat here. I sure as heck don't have the time.

Now if that damned Borla system would ship.....!

Question

Sal,
I think you just don't get it:

my "customer service" is the problem, more like the correspondance end of it.

These are your words and missed the point totally. "Customer service" is when someone inquires about your products or asked for assitance before purcahse, purchase, shipment and then through the life cycle of your PSP product with the owner.

Sal I back your quality, but as i stated earlier get customer service up to your products quality level and you will have a hard act to beat.

Still waiting for an answer to the Email over 3 weeks ago I sent to PSP. Hang in there, we know what you can do to a Lightning, now show everyone what you can do for potential and current PSP Product consumers.
