Question Aftermarket Audio in 'L

I just purchased a black 2000 Lightning. I have had an aftermarket stereo in my 98 Ranger. I am hesitant to do anything to my 'L because I dont want to lower the value in a potential buyers eye's if I ever choose to sell my 'L, but I need my extra power. I don't plan on selling it, but I realize that the day may come when I will have to part with it. Any comments about this would be helpful, as well as any ideas for systems that anybody has put in their vehicles would be appreciated too. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

zbornac - I just upgraded to an Eclipse AM/FM/CD and added an Eclipse 6 disk in-dash changer. The installer did a super job, looks better than factory. I asked him to make sure the stock equipment could be put back if needed. Now the stock head and CD changer are in a nice box in the closet. If you get somebody that knows what they are doing and you let them know up front that you might need to go back to stock you should be ok. JMHO.

zbornac: Swapping your head unit to an aftermarket should be no problem. With the use of a proper wiring harness, and install, your old unit will slip right back in.

Speakers of course you can add in factory locations, no drilling or modification.

If you would like to run an amp, you can run your RCA's and wire *under* the carpet. I have done this before when somone did not want holes drilled. 8 gauge wire will be sufficient for most applications, and is small enough to not appear under the carpet. What I did was simply dropped the RCA down out of the dash, ran it to the front, under the carpet, and then back. I ran the 8 gauge through a grommet in the firewall (look hard.. you'll find one) and to the same place as the RCA. Just try to run them near a "curve" in the carpet.. like on either side of the transmission hump.

Always be sure to seperate your RCA and power wire by at least 12"... so put one on one side, on on the other. Once you've got your positive, and RCA at the back location, you can run your ground to the seat bolt. Now you can put your amp under or behind your seats... wire up your subs, and you should be ready to roll.
