Cool Ennis 7-7-00?

Just checking to see if anyone is going out there. I will be out there about 7:00.
Got to see what the L will run now with the filter/chip combo.
Wish me luck.

Hey Mark, we missed you for the bracket racing. IMHO, the bracket racing on Saturday is really the way to go if you want good times. Track prep was far superior to what it's ever been on a Friday, and Silver_2000 and I both set new best times. If you end up going tonight good luck, and let us know how you do.

My cable modem took a dump a couple weeks a go and they just got it running again. I think I'm going to switch to dsl. anyways, my friend is taking his mustang tonight. I just want to see what the L is running. I went to Kennedale on Wensday and ran a
2.204-60 ft
8.882-1/8 ET
81.48-1/8 mph
I cound'nt get out of the hole very well with the new combo but still working on it.
but a very nice improvement over stock.
Thanks Sal. I love the blower sound.
What was the new best times?

Mark

The track conditions on Saturday have spoiled me. I will likely be going to a Friday Nite after ( if ? )my PSP chip and filter arrive. I would recommend showing up early and getting in line early. That way there wil be less crap from street tires to lose traction on...

We both ran 13.7's. Brian did it on stock tires which is impressive. The real challenge is getting the 60 foot times to 2 or below.

Is the shut down area at Kennedale still all tore up ?

I think I am going to stay near the A/C this weekend. Good Luck

Doug

The kennedale track is no good but it is about 5 mins from the house. I could'nt hook up for nothing on wensday. Well let me know when you guys are going out there again and I will join ya. You will love the filter kit, I cant even start to explain the sound.
How do you like the gears? could you of gone more or is that just right?

THe gears are a tough call. I only ran the truck with the gears by themselves on day in the rain, the next day the chip showed up. I feel that the 3.73 were pretty low on the bang for the buck scale. But then again I got raped by the dealer on the install.

I havent been back to Kenedale since I ran side by side with Sixpipes and crossed the line 1/2 truck length back and got pelted by rocks coming off his drag radials. Of course Sixpipes answer is the track is fine as long as you dont lose.

Cool

Well if you were going to do it again would you go with 4:10's. I've got a shop that the Roush guy told me to go to to have the gears installed. They said they would charge around $600 thats gears and install. I'm thinking about going with the 4:10's thats why the questions. What do you think?

The 3.73's raise the rpm about 200 at 70 mph. Since mine is a daily driver - I am happy with the 3.73 but if was determined to change gears and had a installer I could trust - The 4.10 would likely give you more seat of pants feel. What I need to do someday is yank the chip and drive it just with the gears to see how it feels. Who is the Roush guy ? I have been interested in getting price info on suspension upgrades but cant get anyone to return an email.

Same place that Sixpipes had the Roush suspension installed. I can't remember for the life of me what the name of the place is. It is off 287 and Eden Road. They said that I would have to order it from a guy named George (972)523-8141. Then they would install it. Very nice people.
I beleave your shift points would be all off if you yanked the chip w/ the gears installed. The best way to do it is run a chipped L for a while then get gears installed and install a reburned chip in. Thats prob the best way.
If you ask sixpipes he prob knows the name of that place. easy to get to just exit Eden go north until it ends (about 1/4 mile) and its right in front of you.
They said to try Arlington 4 wheel drive for the gear install. He said they do about the best work around. See if thats the right # if its not let me know and i will swing by there its only 5 mins from me, and I will get the info you need.

My Shift points are jacked now cause no dealer can correct the speedo and Superchips claimed they couldnt. Hopefully PSP chip will correct that .....

I ordered a chip and filter almost 2 months before I even thought of gears. But the gears came in in 3 days and were installed in one more day, chip and filter still arent here yet .....

I guess the chip is set up for the gears.
That would be nice.
I love my combo, I just got back from the track and there was another silver L there.
Total driver error. He had 2900 miles on it
his 60 ft was 2.3's every time and was running no better than 14.7. I felt sorry for the guy. I'll post my new best and times in another tread "new best at Ennis"
I need to get slicks.........
