I have the clunk bad and have 19,000 miles on original F1's. They are flat as a board, no cupping, and the truck does not pull. But it makes a hell of a lot of noise!

I am with Jerry Jordan on this one, except I have 18.6k miles on my f-1s.

Hey Guys
Am I missing something here, I undid my bolts to the bottom wishbone to reveil a elongated hole. All I can see that we require is a part made up by SVT to stop this bolt moving.....and all will be tickady boo....
I'll suffer the wear on my tyres and pay to have the wheels realighed only when I know the damm thing doesn't shift anymore
So come on SVT spend a little of your huge profit and post a reply and tell us you are working on a repair.... and not going to tell us to put a washer with locktight on!!!

SilverBullet, you had an excellent photograph on the Board you posted late yesterday of the lower control arm and the bolt and large washer. From your Lightning? You apparently pulled the picture. Why was that? What did you call it? The big blue washer? Cute.

I was just going to comment that before you posted the picture, I had my truck up on a lift and closely inspected the bolt and washer and they looked exactly the same from what I could tell. I was also looking for identifying marks or stickers on the lower control arms. Found two, one white and one yellow sticker. All I could read was the last two characters on the yellow sticker and it said "BA", which is the last two characters of the part numbers for the replacement lower control arms. But, that may not mean anything.

Red face

I got off the phone with SVT (hotline) this morning and told them about the problem with my 99L's driverside lower control arm bolt moving and the loud clunk or popping noise when turning sharply or more pronounced when backing out of a driveway.
He already knew about the "TWO SEPARATE PROBLEMS". SVT's fix-"IT WON'T HURT ANYTHING but you can-take it to your local Ford Dealer and have him call them to authorize a star-washer install on lowercontrol arm bolt and retorqued". SECOND PROBLEM" is the spindle hitting the bump-stop! NORMAL!!!!!!
WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP!!!
OH! And a TSB should be comming out shortly on the STAR WASHER NO-FIX!!
Note: My lower control arms say SVT in black letters on a white sticker.
