Post 95 decibel limit???

I just called Pomona Raceway concerning the Street Legal Drags tomorrow. No slicks, which is fine since I don't have any yet. But they also said 95 decibel limit for exhaust. I am running dual 3" flowmasters and have no idea if it is beyond 95 decibels or not. My guess is that it is not, what do you guys think?

A 2000 model at 3000 revs has 98 decibels at 5 metres......I had to pass a SVA test to bring my truck to England, that was one of the tests. They allow 102 to pass. That was mine, mind you after looking underneath I did find that the exhaust was blowing atalmost all the joints!!

Brimstone, 95 decibles is loud. If your exhaust is not leaking it should be ok. They may just not want guys with open exhaust, no mufflers, or open headers making waaaaaaaaaaay to much noise at a street legal event. Just do it!!!!

Brimstone - You should be fine... Redhot is right... 95dB is loud. Laguna Seca has a limit of 92dB (at least for the events I run) and plenty of loud cars run there - Vipers, Ferrari's, etc.

Nick d - Are you saying you had an exhaust leak? If so, it makes sense that you registered high on the sound meter... for some reason, exhaust leak - 'airy' sounds register high on sound meters?! I dont know why, but the rotary cars (Rx7) which have almost no engine noise, but 'whoosh' airy noise get disqualified all the time!
