Pcv Delete? Breathers?

Reading past posts on oil separators, breathers, altered pcv setups, and people removing it all together. I figured while I have the truck apart I should deal with the oil that’s getting into the intake. But I’m unsure of which way to go...Some say breathers on both valve covers and leave the oil cap...I’ve seen lines re-routed and a breather....Which is the best way to go? I have no emissions to deal with...I just don’t want to smell oil in the cab, or have oil spraying anywhere...

The Best And Least Expensive Way Is To Relocate The Breathers To The Pass Side Front Of The Engine Compartment In Front Of The Wiper Washer Resovoir, Looks Like A Factory Install, Is Discrete, I Smell No Oil Fumes At All, And No Oil Residue.
1. Use 2 K&n Breathers 3 Inch X 2
1/2 With 5/8 Inch Tube Part#62-1150 About $22 Each
2. 3 Foot Goodyear 5/8 Hose $3
3. 6 Foot Goodyear 5/8 Hose $6
4. 2 5/8 Inch Bypass Tube Covers $5, In Help Section@autozone,orielly.
5. 1 5/8 Inch Hose Clamp $1
*attach 3 Foot Hose To Passanger Side Pcv Valve, Route To Front In Front Of Wiper Resovoir (fyi The Pcv Valve Is A Two Way Valve Will Flow In Either Direction, Leave It There)
*unplug The Hose From The Intake Return That Goes To The Pcv Oil Return T And Plug It Back Into The Hose That Was Feeding All Of The Oil Through The Blower, plug These Hoses Into Each Other And Snuggly Camp Them Together.
*install 5/8 Cap Plug To Blower At Top Of Intake On Pas Side Manifold.
*unplug Driver Side Vent Pipe At Valve Cover, Remove 5/8 Inch Elbow And Replace With Plug Cap.
*install 6 Ft Hose To Nipple At Valve Cover And Route Hose Around Back Of The Blower To The Front Of The Wiper Resovior, Use A Wire Tie To Secure The Breathers A Factory Hole In The Rad Support. LEAVE STOCK OIL CAP INSTALLED
Works Great, Benifits Of This Method Are No Boost Is Being Pushed Into The Crankcase And Being Wasted With This Setup, No Heat From The Crankcase Is Being Added To The Intake Charge. Absolutely No Oil Fouling The Intake/intercooler Vs A Seperator,no Octane Degradation, Also There Is More Vaccum Availble At The Suction Side Of The Air Filter For A More Efficient Running Engine.
Also This Setup Can Be Returned To Stock In A Matter Of Minutes For Emisson Check Purposes. Svt 807

STRK BY, that sounds exactly like what I need to do. I have been running breathers for a while now and have been looking for some way to avoid the mess and smell. I currently run breathers on the oil cap and at the valve covers. I have been using cotton wrist bands on the oil cap breather to contain the oil mist and have to wash or replace about once a week and that gets old. Would you happen to have some pics of the install? I would really like to see just how you mounted the breathers.

SORRY, I DONT HAVE ANY PICS OF THE INSTALL, JUST PULL ONE OF YOUR BREATHERS OUT AND PLACE IN FRONT OF THE WASHER RESOVIOR IN THE SPACE IN FRONT OF IT, AND LOOK AT AT IT TO GET A VISUAL, JUST FOLLOW THE ABOVE SUGGESTED INSTRUCTIONS ABOVE AND U WILL HAVE A CLEAN INSTALL, THE HOSES ROUTE AS CLOSE TO THE INNER FENDER AS POSSIBLE, GO DOWN UNDER THE SPACE BELOW THE WIPER RESIOVIOR AND CURVE BACK UP TO THE TOP BY THE FRONT OF THE WASHER RESOVIOR, THE K AND N 3 X2 BREATHERS FIT SNUGGLY IN THERE IN FRONT OF THE RESIOVIOR, THE HOSES WILL ALMOST HOLD THEM THER BY THEMSELVES, BUT I USED A COUPLE OF WIRE TIES AND SECURED THEM TO A SMALL FACTORY HOLE IN THE SHEETMETAL RADIATOR CORE SUPPORT, GOOD LUCK

I'm gonna have to try this. One question, how often do you have to clean the filters?

K&N CLAIMS THAT IN NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS, I.E NO HEAVY DUSTSY CONDITIONS, THAT THEY ONLY NEED SERVICED ONCE EVERY 50,000 MILES, I JUST CLEAN/RE OIL WITH KN FILTER OIL WHENEVER THEY LOOK DIRTY OR DRY, ONCE EVERY 3 OR 4 MONTHS IS WHAT I WOULD DO, JUST BE SURE TO USE THE QUALITY K&N FILTERS/CLEANERS AND FILTER OIL, STAY AWAY FROM THOSE CHINESE PARTS STORE CHEAPIES

Instead of running hoses to seperate breathers off to the side, couldnt we just run hoses from each valve cover to the fresh air side of the factory air box? ( if still using factory air box)
