As the title says.
I cannot find a single bit of truth no matter where I look.
I wanna add a fliter breather to my fill tube but some say you gotta reprogram the vehicle where as others say you dont.
Which is it???

Ask more than 1 person and you'll get more than one answer

The Theory:
With an open Breather you can take in un-metered air.
That is true.

The gray area:
How much frigging air ???
and
How much adjustment is needed ???

Hence some tuners do nothing, others believe adjustments are needed.

My Vote
NO CHANGE NEEDED!!

Most will agree but always say, for those running on the edge it could.......

If you install breathers on both valve covers and plug the entry points where the tubes used to go into the intakes (upper intake and intake tube before the TB), you'll not be allowing any 'unmetered' air into the intake system and a retune wouldn't be necessary.

It might make the check engine light come on. Some trucks can get awat without reprograming, but others need to have it reprogramed so the light won't come on.

Even if the light comes on, it won't hurt anything.
