Post Please Help Evaluate My First Ever 1/8 Ets.

This weekend I took a trip to Nashville Tennessee and while I was there decided to take my 00 L to the track. The temp was 85 degrees while I made my three passes. The best pass is listed below:

2.052 60 ft
5.848 330 ft
8.938 1/8 et
80.46 1/8 mph

This was my first time ever to a track so how do you think I did? My truck is bone stock except for a Superchip. I left at idle and did not burn out before the launch. How does my times come to other L's? Also how can I convert these 1/8 times to 1/4 times? Thanks, HANKFAN

not to bad on those times for your fist time!! I would say your 1/4th would be a 13.9-14.0. With more time you will get better. I would get some DR's or slicks, then your times will be a little better.

I'm running that fast with no chip. What brand are you using. I have no filter kit either. Your reaction time sucks. Go to the practice tree and do at least 25 a day. Your 60' times are average for a stock truck and your top speed indicates you are probably running F1s.

Good times. With a little work on your reaction times, you'll be good to go. As far as a conversion, try this site: (Thanks to Spiro, I think)

once again the practice tree is located at http://sl.rconcepts.com/services/holeshot/index.htm Your security level on your browser must be set to low for this to work. Its a great tool. I use it all the time and my raction times are now averaging under .6 at the track. On the practice tree you should be able to avg under .55. If you are getting a lot of red lites, your anticipating. Quit following the lites with your eyes and only concentrate on the third yellow and hit it when you see it. You will be able to see the lite come down in your perriferal vision. Watching the lites drop will produce either slow reaction times and or red lites.

Noel-
What are you setting as your "roll out" and "delay" options. Or do you even mess with them at all?

Nashville? I race my L there almost every tuesday. I assume you raced at union hill? I raced there last night and it was very hot. best 60' 1.740 8.01 et 87.51mph. I was having bad wheel hop problems due to my truck being lowered to far and the stock rear shocks bottoming out. I have the run listed above on mpeg and hope to get it to the board soon.

Most likely a 13.8-13.9 in the 1/4. Not bad times at all.

thenickman,

Yep I raced at Union Hill. That was my first time there. There was one other 99 black lightning ( real nice older guy) who was running as well. I think his best time was 8.98. What time do you normally run there? Was 8.93 average for that track? I probably will make the trip again some time this fall. Take Care HANKFAN
