What's wrong with Steig's port 3???

Does anyone have any knowledge of what may be wrong with a steigmeier port three? I've read there were some 'problems' but I haven't heard anyone who actually knows there was something wrong with it. I'm thinking of buying a used one, so any help would be great!

Thanks.

i don't think there were really any actual problems with the stg III port. i have one. these newer ports drop a lot of torque down low but make up for it on the top end. some folks including myself reported some noise with the stg III, but nothing was ever concluded that it was more or less than any other stage. i sent mine back to Steige and had it checked out, all was 100% and bob clearanced the case just a bit more. but it still made same noise when i got it back, just changed pitch a little. it only happened under light throttle or idle AND only in cold weather. kind of a cavitation/ rotor flutter condition that's normal.
