Thumbs up Ran at Navasota Raceway

To anyone in the Houston area:

I just got back from Navasota Raceway in Navasota (of course) and was impressed. The track (1/8 mile) was in good shape and VERY sticky. I ran my best MPH, ET, and 60' even though it was crappy weather (low BP and HOT!). If any of you HALO guys don't mind the drive (about an hour from LSR in Sealy), y'all should come down and check it out. Tonight was "Test and Tune" only and I was able to get in about 15 runs (I could have made at least that many more if I had wanted to). They have a website, but I don't remember it right now. I'll look and see if I can find it. Just so y'all know....

Times weren't very good, even though they were my best. I have one of the slow trucks. My ET was a 9.206 compared to a 9.300 best (both times bone stock with ~6000 miles) at LSR. However, I wasn't really trying to make good times; I was more working on my reaction times. I never aired down my tires or heated them up very much. Just kinda was playing around checking the track out tonight. Anyway, why would you come to Navasota to race? Isn't there a 1/4 in Baytown or somewhere close to you? If I had anything other than LSR within an hour from me I would sure as hell run it.

BTW, the NR website is www.hotrodchat.com If you want a good laugh, get that "Hear me" plugin and listen to some of our fine locals converse. LOL! There is a video (crappy resolution) that shows the track and a bunch of runs by various people on the site, too.

Hey Duck, thanks for the recon mission. Glad to see you ran better. I ran my personal 1/8th mile best tonight also: 8.56sec. I was happy. We might have to drive up there and check it out one Friday.

Hey Duck,

Ran two 8.93s Friday nite. As you know I'm stock except for the tires. I had to launch at 800 rpm. Anything more and I spun the tires and had lousy times. Unfortunately the second 8.93 was against my 8.98 dial in and while I caught and beat the camero, i broke out. He had a .5 reaction and I had a .55. In my first round I cut a .5 lite against Bryan. He doesn't want to race me anymore.

LOL Noel!! You beat him and that's what counts. I was rubbing it in his face also

To all the guys I met at the track last night ( I was the guy in the red shirt with Brian) I had a good time. Hope to do it again sometime.

We'll probably never see Jarrod again. He'll end up driving his truck to Houston, sans exhaust with the Bassani system in the back for someone to install. hehe

Been offline for a day and everyone's hammerin' on me. hehe
I just figured I would bring it back to Houston and we could do a thrash in the Sonic parking lot (like we did with the blower pulley)
No, the install is going good. Did not get much done today, had to help my dad do things. But should have it on this weekend.
It was nice meeting you to, Fake. Going to have to join us again sometime.
