I guess we can all say what chip is the best with out a chip war. I have been posting on this board for almost 2 years and those are the best times/mph I have seen. With just 2 mods. Go Johnny, Go Johnny, I have the latest superchip program, PSP air filter and JBA headers but have not been to the track this year. Need to go test the Red beast.

Later,
Terry

Damn Johnny is that with the TRAC program? I have both the Swanson chip and the superchip with the race only program and I could not get times any where near what you got. I was at the track last night and made about 10 runs switching back and forth..
You have to let us in on how you attained those killer times..there has to be more than just those 2 mods. What kind of air did you have? 30+ barometer...low humidity? Good job man.... Jeff

Hey guys, Sal here. First of all, let me say that Johnny is a very cool guy, and I like him and Sue very much, they are good people. I didn't want to respond to this post because I really respect his determination and persistance to make his truck run fast. But after seeing Terry's post above, I have to chime in. Johnny has worked very hard to get his times, but his truck is by no means a "two mod" truck anymore. Today at the Mod Shootout, Johnny ran a best of 12.90. This is what he had done to his truck to achieve this- Chip, filter with ram air ducting, running to under the spoiler, drag radials, no sway bar, skinny spares up front, removed passengers seat, removed hitch and spare, and pure ice water running in the intercooler. His truck weighed 4500 lbs. Spiros truck weighed 4850 and went 13.1s. Then Spiro removed the seat and spare, which dropped him to 4700 lbs (still 200 more than Johnny due to having a FULL tank of gas) and drained some intercooler fluid out and replaced with ice water, and he also went 12s, 12.94 and 12.93 to be exact. I hope Johnny understands my posting this, but it's only fair to let people know that while his truck runs awesome and kicks butt, it's not just "chipped and filtered".

Red face

hey sal i knew i'd hear from ya all is true except the time was 12.85 and lets be fair hear spiro runs a level 10 shift kit, et drags, your air setup, your custom chip, 373 gears and he was putting ice in his cooler too and bassini exhaust. i'm not taking nothing away from spiro's truck or anyone else's they ALL ran great but with those kind of mods i think that puts that truck in another class. everything i used is just plain old racers wisdom nothing out of the ordinary....... the truck is stock except the chip, ramair, thats it!

It looks like everybody had a good night. If Spiro was running in the high 12's with a 4700lb truck that is awesome times. I don't want to get into flaming but I have heard negative comments about other chips, Johnny's time indicate that the superchip can compete and that all I was looking for. I'm looking forward to all the future mods that PSP has to offer and hope you (SAL) have intentions of selling some sort of ram air setup that Amazon racing is working on. Your workmanship on the PSP air filter is of the highest quality at a very low price. I do feel like you should be selling them for more money since your competition is charging about $100.00 more for a lower quality product. I also will be ordering an AUX trans cooler when you finish that project. I don't want anybody thinking that I wanted this to turn into a flame war but I'm happy that a superchip can compete because I was thinking that I wasted $375.00 after reading so many negative comments.
