Question Insurance

I was shocked by my Insurance Company!
2 weeks ago I got my Black Lightning and had it, added to my Insurance Policy and the Insurance company told me it would be $425. for every 6 months now the Insurance Company is telling me they Quoted me the wrong price for 6 months Insurance. The insurance company wants $725. every 6 months due to fact my Lightning is considered a High performance vehicle. My Lightning is considered like a sports car like a, Porsche, Z28, Prowler, Cobra Mustang. I thought at first the insurance company would just consider my Lightning as a F-150 pickup. I quess, it is the price to pay to have a AWESOME truck! What are the rest of you Lightning owners paying for Insurance???
Thanks in Advance, DJY

DJY,
Before I got my Lightning I had a 99 F150 4X4 S/C. When I got the L the price dropped 40 a month! My insurance doesn't like 4X4's I guess. Right now, with the L and a 2000 Honda Civic I am paying 960 every 6, I am 22 and my wife is 21. Can't wait to hit 25!

.... Less than my wife’s '99 Camry. Neither have had any traffic violations. We pay about $500 for her Camry and $400 for the L every 6 months. We just paid the premium for the 3rd 6 month cycle and I was very pleasantly surprised that it had gone down a little instead of up. Best part about this truck in Arizona, the annual registration is based on a simple 6cyl F150 with an MSRP of 17K (registration fees in AZ are some of the highest in the country) making it $100 less than the Camry. In my wife’s opinion, these are the only plusses about this truck as she hates it when I make that blower whine fill the air.

Here in NJ insurance is very steep. I'm 40years old, no violations or accidents and I pay 1,600 per year for my L.
My 96 cobra was 2700 per year!!! No accidents or tickets, with a multi-car discount no less.

I'm paying 66.00 month for full coverage, max limits. You can't beat the price for insurance in Oklahoma. I also get a senior Goverment discount at 15% and very clean driving record. The bolt is paid for but i have to keep the max limits because of some of the most uneducated drivers in the world are out here.
