trucks that go lean for no reason some and all of the time in here
okay, after fighting tuning issues for 6-8 weeks, sometimes the tune was good, but we had to add fuel up top, then some times it was fine
then we started noticing the maf counts weren't climbing like they should,
Calightnin sent me a pm told me he knew what my problem was
after talking to him, he said on some of these trucks, the maf starts getting an irregular signal, his and a buddies truck had the problem, sometimes tune was perfect, sometimes not
he said it was recommended to put on a boost a spark or some type of regulator with a filter to power the maf and that fixed his problem. i believe him and his buddy are both on speed density.
i mentioned this to ken at MD , and he ordered up a voltage regulator set at 13.89 volts.
we wired it into the m.a.f. and even my conservitive street tune started going fat up top
tune has been spot on ever since. we ended up going with something cheaper than the boost a spark, but the boost a spark would work fine as well.
just thought i'd throw this thread out there for those that may be having some issues with the maf and / or lean issues and are stuck
btw i did have a mafia already, so that wasn't the problem. also, do not mount the regulators in the engine bay as they are usually heat sensitive and some will have internal shut offs (don't ask how i know, lol)
