How far to drop...

.... how much drop do you all have on your Lightning?
I am thinking about 3.5 - 4. But I would like to see some pics first. I think 1-1.5 would be a waste. What all else does one need to do after a drop?

4" in rear should make you perfectly level with the front (if the front is stock). With that being said, just go with JLP's shackel. You have the choice of a 2, 3, or 4" drop. 4" drop is really like 2 3/4"-3". I'm 1/2" higher from rim to wheel well in the rear than in the front (almost level). But I have an '04 which are higher in the rear from the factory than your '01.

If your looking to lower the front as well, you have many options. IMO the best looking drop is what the Hotchkins kit gives you.

Front: Belltech 4804 coil with 3/4 turn cut off. Belltech shocks with short Energy Suspension bump stops. 3" lower than stock.

Rear: Belltech shackle on lowest setting and Western Chassis front spring hanger on lowest setting. Belltech shocks and Western Chassis c-notch kit with urethane bumpstops. 4 3/4" lower than stock.

The rear of my truck is still 2" higher than the front because I'm running a 2" taller rim/tire back there.

Do you need a c-notch to run a 5 or 6 in. drop in the back? Or can you get away with front hangers, shackles, and shock extenders with smaller bump stops?

Is that the standard drop on the Hotchkins kit?

FRPP (Ground Force) kit. Ride still feels the same, and it hasn't scrubbed yet.
