Truck is sick..Please help
Truck is sick..Please help
Hey guys quick question,
On 6/19, I added some basic mods to my stock 99L. (4lb pulley, air kit & custom tune) The truck ran great until today, 7/4. This morning it started no problem, but when I put it into gear something was just not right. It felt as if the engine was violently rocking back and forth, and something was off balanced. I did not attempt to drive anywhere and have not been in it since. The pulley was installed by a local auto mechanic. To me, it looks like it was mounted correctly, but I really dont know too much about these things.
Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be or what I should be looking for?
Thanks in advance for all the help,
Kyle
Update... I just had someone with a little more knowledge then myself drive the truck and he says it feels like a misfire. Bad spark plug maybe?

Kyle,
Someone might want to warn you on what your 1st Plug Change will be like. If you never have, YOU HAVENT LIVED TILL YOU DID PLUGS IN A LIGHTNING, especially the first time
You'll sit there looking at the last one on both sides and say, it's not possible ? how the fk am I getting that out ? Search on the topic and find much needed info to help you along if your not familar with a L plug change..
Things you will REALLY NEED to help you along:
7mm 1/4" drive swival socket (needed on DS, the Coil under Fuel Regulator)
(not a 7mm socket + universal, you want a 1pc 7MM swival socket 1/4" drive)
A little telescoping magnet, (to remove all the coil bolts after loosened)
If possible an extra long 5/8 Spark Plug Socket, (w/rubber insert inside)
If you have to use a reg 5/8 plug socket with a med size extension, "TAPE IT"
You should also have a tube of Grease to grease up the tips of the Coil,
And some of us used a tad of Never Seize on each plug going back in
Take your time, watch what your doing, unplug any and everything in your way, and expect the first time to be quite an experience.......
Now the important part, Plugs just dont burn themselves out for no reason, but you do need a cooler set if you changed the pulley so put the TR6's in,
see what the old looked like, and "if" it was a bad plug/plugs make sure you stay out of long WOT and big boost til you talk to who ever gave you the tune and make sure it isnt too lean
Hey Rich why dont you help the Brother out and show him how to do the back one on each side

Rob, thanks for all the advice. I was actually thinking about having my local mechanic do the change for me, as he is a friend of the family. Do you think this is a good idea?
Richie, please pick them up for me, I will pay you when I see you later.
Thanks, Kyle
