Question Going in for first service. I have Questions.

I am taking my truck to the dealer for the first service tomorrow, and I have a few questions for the forum.

1.) Which oil should I put in?

2.) What weapons do I need to get the dealer to the star washer fix?

3.) Does anyone else have the problem of the transmission doing a double shift when it is stomped going 80 mph or above? The truck down shifts, the RPM climb to just above 4,000 (about 1-2 seconds) then shift up, then shift down again and holds the gear until 5,000 RPM. This is really aggravating. The dealer already said that they would not drive it above 70 mph. he problem does not occur until 80 mph.

4.) Does anyone else have the problem of their dash having a big gap on the drivers side?

5.) What is the seat wear problem I have been hearing about? My seat just seems to have lost it's firmness on the outside edge.

I would greatly appreciate it if you guys can suggest any thing else I need to ask about.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I can't answer all of your questions, but I can help on a few.

1) I am going in soon to get my oil switched over to synthetic. I am running Havoline 10W-30 right now (with 5500 miles), but will get Amsoil or 5 weight Mobile 1 synthetic put in as soon as I get a chance.

2) Not sure about that one. I'm interested in seeing what everyone has to say about that one.

3) No prob here.

4) No prob here.

2) Cattleprod - nothing like a little electro-shock therapy.

Cool

(2)Look at the photos in this post and notice the position(lower drivers side rear bolt) in relation to the oil filter where it is and when it's up on the hoist show it to them. Have them star washer(5/8" I.D.) or tack weld it in place and you are allowed one free wheel alignment in the first 12/12,000...might wanna use it.
Also tell them to grease the steering stops.
