Question Those who bought the Autophysics filter.....

Hey I know this may seem ignorant but I want to make sure I dont screw something up with this. First off, how did you tie the MAS to the filter, did you simply unbolt it from the air box and then slide the collar over this or what?

Secondly, there is some sensor that goes into the airbox, what did you do with this if anything?

Any information is greatly appreciated here. Thanks guys.

Eric

Off with the old, on with the new.

Loosen the band around the old filter flange, slide the filter off. Then slide the new on and tighten both bands.

Done!

Bob has some pictures of the installed filter.

Hey Mister,
The sensor in the stock air box is a temperature sensor. As far as I know, you must have an aftermarket air filter kit in order to use your Autophysics filter. I have an airraid and installed a autophysics filter on that to replace the K&N that came with the airraid. (The airraid also has a hole for the temperature sensor)

What are you guys using to make the filter slide all the on the fitting. I seem to be able to get it just over the little bulge, but that is not a secure area. It seems that it has to push all the way on, and I am having a hell of a time making it move beyond that point. Thanks

Question

Mister SVT - are you trying to do a direct replacement of the stock airbox and filter with just the S&B filter? I'm not sure how you would do that. I, and I think most others, got this filter to put on/into some other aftermarket filter kit? I don't believe it was intended as a replacement for the stock box and filter. Guys, if I out in the weeds here please jump in. The pics in the link that FORDSALES referenced show the S&B filter installed in an Airaid box that is in my L. In that case it was just as FORDSALES said, out with the old and in with the new. Hope that helps.

skydive69 - make sure to open up the clamp before you push it on. The one on mine took a little effort but did go on all the way.

Of course I did know to completely loosen the clamps, but I don't seem to be able to get it must past the hump. I'm trying to decide what type of lubricant to use to make it go the rest of the way without getting too forceful.

Never mind. Tried soapy water, and that accomplished the mission.
