Launched Spark Plug... Warranty?

I finally launched one of my spark plugs. I couldn't get a new one to stay in there, so I took it to a dealership very far from my house (happened while I was camping). From what I've read in other posts, dealerships seem to like to replace the heads. What does this normally run? I have the extended warranty on my 2002, but I've never had to use a warranty. I've been pretty lucky. Does the dealership get the warranty from the VIN? Or do I get billed, and then send the claim to the warranty office, or something? Also, would this be covered under warranty, or would they try to say it was because of some kind of neglegence on my part?

If its a ford extended service plan and in your name it should cover it with a $100 deductable. Thats what mine says.

Any aftermarket parts COULD be your downfall ... depends
on the dealer.

I'm completely stock, except for a sticker on my back window, so I should be cool. Looks like it's covered under warranty. So is a rental car, apparently. I didn't know this, or that I have roadside assistance through the warranty. Knowing this would have come in really handy before I left my car at a dealership 120 miles away. I guess I should read these things better.

Are they replacing the head or fixing it? Any chance in replacing both heads?

Thumbs up heads up on sparkplug issue

I had the same thing happen to me.
The dealer put in threaded inserts.
This is NOT a authorized lightning repair.
If the dealer says that they are going to put in inserts call svt.
the authorized repair for a standard f150 is the insert the repair for a lightning is new upgraded heads ..New ones with full threads.
svt told me to call them if i was being given unauthorized repair.
The main problem that i had was after 2 weeks in the dealership they didnt want to tell me what they were doing to my truck.

But they only can do the side that spit under warranty,
even though they have it all apart and it would be cheaper than doing it later.

This part SUCKS ...

I still have the weak sauce head on the drivers side and the '03 head on the passenger when I blew th ehead gasket.

Well, it's going to be repaired under warranty, which is good. It's going to be in the shop for longer than the warranty pays for a rental, so that sucks. The good news is I'll probably come out ahead by not having to pay Lightning gas prices. Hahaha... ha...

I launched a plug on my 01. I was only going about 20 mph when it happened. I had the Ford ESP and they replaced my head. The only thing I had to pay for was the deductable. When I called the dealer I informed him that the truck was "not exactly stock" and asked if that would be a problem. He said "we both know that your mods had nothing to do with your plug launching". Now that's how dealerships should operate
