Post Need help Lightning drag racers....

Hey guys. I put 3.73s in my truck last weekend, and went drag racing again last night. Made a pass, and the times were only slightly faster then what I was running with the 3.08s. I found this kind of odd, and was expecting more. After a few passes, and a lot of complaining, a friend pointed out to me that I was spinning the tires about 20 feet into first, and about 5 into second. I was not aware of it... and couldn't feel it at all. That's where the problem comes in. I cannot feel my tires spin. I don't know when to pedal it, or when to get on it. I try glancing at the tach, but that gets tough. What do you guys do to launch? I tried easing on it, pedaling it, the works. Trying new forms of launching from my old habit (powerbraking to 1500) messed up my RTs a lot. I'd like to find a way to launch and stick with it. Any input is appreciated.

Good question Jason,

I am certain that my truck spins pretty often too, and not much you can do about it unless you know its happening...

Unless you can hear it or the rear end moves sideways it is touhg to tell....

If you are on stock F1's let tire presure down to about 18-20 hot, go around the water. Launch at idle, go hard. Or buy a set of MT Streets, air down to 15-18 hot, spin'um up to get them hot, launch at 1500 RPM, go hard. OR! buy a set of Goodyear Drag Radials, air down to 16 hot, go around water again, launch at 1000 RPM, go hard. This is all I have experience with.

Jason-

I got the Mickey E/T Streets. I love em'. Mine are size 26x11.50x16. Cost was about $175 a piece w/tax.

1BADTK: Which tires of those would you recommend? ET Streets? I've heard many good things about them. What size should I get, and how much should they run me?
