Motor Questions for the PRO'S

I was wondering what was the sensor in the center of the block was?, i think it is a knock sensor! and what about the sensor on the side of the drivers side head on the inside is that the same thing? What about the oil pump. i bought the high volume oil pump from ford racing. i was wondering will it fit the 5.4. i think it will but not to sure also it came with a new pick-up tub, do i us it or do i use the old one or it makes no diffrence? One last question will crower stage 3 cams fit a 18cc dish piston with no clearence issues?

The sensor on the inside of the head is a cylinder head temp sensor. The oil pump you bought will work, and the cams you got will work with 18cc dish pistons as well.

It sounds to me like you are just throwing parts together, and hoping they work. I hope this is not the case.

You have to use the high volume pickup tube that cam with the pump and no it wont fit block/pan without some work....you will have to remove or trim a splash sheild and then the splash baffle in the pan will have to be "adjusted" so the pan will go on and even then I still don't like the way it fits.
Then sensor in the valley is a knock sensor and it is not used by the computer however I think you should leave it plugged in.

18cc dish piston--what Compression are you planning on running exactly?
Most guys use 14 and a lot are using 12 now.

Well i am not trying to run alot of compression just alittle bit over stock, i do drive my truck everyday, befor it blew it, it was making 18 psi and i plan to make 20 or just a little bit more when i am all said and done, i am just looking forward to haveing a save little modmotor that can take a good beating with out a wimper and still be able to drive it everyday like it was befor. I havent drove my L in 6 months and it is killing me
