Question opinions please...

I have been looking at the various threads on Air Induction kits and I must admit that there doesn't seem to be any consensus as to what is the 'best' kit to use…

For my situation I am not looking to go a huge distance down the HP route mild is how I'd descibe it (4# pulley at the most, maybe an upgraded chip - not sure that there's anything else would suit my purposes, if you think/know different I'm listening!!) so the ability to feed a 500hp motor isn't an issue it would be cosmetic as much as anything else… at present I am leaning towards a K & N system both for looks and for price but would be curious to see what others have done (pics would be great ) and more to the point what their experience of the varying systems (both living with and installing)

thanks

if you want to go K&N, buy a honda and go hang out at autozone.

id suggest either JDM's, PSP's or Chickenears

id further suggest chickenears (even tho I dont have it) because he has the 2nd part I plan on installing, the forced induction stage 2 that bolts underneath in the front.

just stay away from K&N and non-lightning vendors for most of your engine parts. granted engine parts are fine else, rods and such. but for intakes def go with a lightning vendor.

The K&N kit is fine regardless of the above post and has a nice inlet tube, alot of people run JL's ram air, JDM's kit, PSP's ram air with good results but the idea is the same, remove the restrictive factory air box to help increase air flow and add a ton of blower whine.

If your looking for the best quality and designed forced air kit make sure you look at ChickenEars CoolAid! It is truly the best out there. I have a new PSP cai I did not use. And went for the CoolAid kit. Artie

Honestly, save yourself some cash! Go to www.lightningforceperformance.com and buy the 03-04 Cobra CAI. It runs roughly $80 U.S. and it serves the same purpose as any other filter. Probably won't add to HP and will add to blower whine. Only problem is you will need to fabricate a hanger for it. It is a 10" filter instead of a 12". As long as you have a 90mm MAF then you'll be fine...it bolts straight up.
