Question Who's gone the fastest?

I am just curious, who has gone over 130 MPH in their Lightnings? I saw 137 MPH and still pulling while passing a couple of rocket bikes, that had moments before passed me at 120 or so. These cycle pilots did a serious double take upon seeing a pickup pass them at that speed, my point made I shutdown to something approaching legal speed. I was surprised how stable this beast is at over 130 MPH.

I've been 130 plus, but not much over... and I agree it's very stable at that point, it's just the rest of the idiots on the road scare me, but I had the perfect spot to open her up, couple mile straight with no cars anywhere.

I don't believe in road racing anymore, just to easy to kill someone... 5000 pound trucks can do a lot of damage quick.

Injection is nice, but I'd rather be blown. 99 Lightning, the best of both worlds!

Been to 137(or so..was hard trying to guesstimate and keep from dieing at the same time) on some backroads around here. I ran out of road and had to shut it down before the road curved. The L still had more to go, though.

Still looking for that perfect strectch of road....

I went up to 135-ish Satur---Errrr Sunday Morning. On the Glen---in my dreams... There was this white dodge ram 'sport' that had a couple of guys in it, and a couple of girls in it. He passed me, then I passed him (80mph then) then he tried to walk me to his limiter, from which I promptly nailed it and off I went. I think he was trying to impress them, but got turned off when I floored it.

I let off the gas around 135, didn't look at the tach, but I think it can go faster than 139, just needs a little room to gain speed. If I remember right, the Lightning can go from 0-140 in 29.5 seconds.

140 in O.D. , 138 in 3rd!! This was not by design, I was racing a Z28 and hit the 6500rpm rev limiter( PSP chip). Wont do it again though. As long as it is not real windy mine feels quite stable over 130.

Heck, I take it to 140 all the time. Over that you need a lot of road and time. The longer you're there the greater the risk factor of being caught. I go un and back down. I was racing an STS caddie today. Those damn things will go 130-135. He had trouble keeping up after about 135. Maybe that sled was flootin on him.

You guys are crazy! I laid a bike down going 90mph and that was enough for me. When the time is right, and the road, I will try to get somewhere near you.
